if you have the time...
...to listen, in a certain state, this album will capture you. Most reviews of this band mention the "cite the influence" aspect The Horrors present. True, this observation. The album Skying was an aural feast of bands you have heard/loved/hated. Yet sounding just a bit different. The song I heard that made me buy this album is Machine. Just hooked, even only hearing it on an i-pad.Now, hearing it, in that state, and loud, I can hear in this music, almost every band these guys like or did at some point. That's easy. And, if you like to play like that, have fun with this.I carried a bit of that baggage coming into this. All those reviews I read before buying. Comparisons to Gary Numan, I get that for a bit. No comparisons to Brian Eno though. Lead song, Hologram, is Eno's No One Receiving, new and puffed-up.With this album, I can appreciate where the band may be coming from, but if you listen to this gem with a clean slate (altered suggested), these songs rock. The drums alone are worth the fee.To my jaded ears and tastes, this is pure escapist candy. And it sounds better than anything else right now.Gotta go. Machine is playing again.Worth the time. If you have it.

A great album and relatively new wave for the band's constant transformation
I've really enjoyed the Horrors tranformation over the years and this album is excellent. Their sound has moved away from the previous two albums shoegazer elements and has turned into more new wave synth industrial rock. The first track was defintely inspired by Gary Numan and is worthy of the compairson. Overall like the album more than the last one as it has more memorable tracks.

Vinyl Review
I've loved this album since it came out, and finally got the vinyl. I had a bad experience with the Luminous vinyl, where it was pressed off center (twice) and was super noisy. This vinyl is the COMPLETE opposite, and is one of the nicest I own. Heavy, quiet, perfectly flat, and the sleeves and artwork are AMAZING. Great buy.

If you're already a Horrors fan, V will "horrify" ...
If you're already a Horrors fan, V will "horrify" you even more. From where I sit, Gathering, Point of No Reply, Machine and Something to Remember Me By are solid tracks. Others are no fillers either. I am thoroughly enjoying V.

... that makes "Something To Remember Me By" such a great song I would have given five stars easy
Had the excessive base not overwhelmed every element that makes "Something To Remember Me By" such a great song I would have given five stars easy. What were they thinking?
