Bought this when we moved into a new house which had keys missing for a few locks. Its easy to fit, though we did use the old backplate and screws to save cropping the ones provided and drilling extra holes to fit a new backplate. The lock does seem of cheaper construction than as packaged with a £15 full lock kit we also purchased, this was a bit disappointing as it seems comparable on price when you take into account the latching mechanism. We are using it on a low security concern door however so it is more as a preventative measure and I'm sure the bulk of the security is in the latch. All in all fair for the price.

Yale ya cant go wrong, does the job, replaced one that was older than me, works perfectly, very easy to install.

Worked fine on an old Yale lock that was missing a key.

This product was from the essentials range, the quality was not as good as the original brass rim around the Yale cylinder I was replacing. When I went to get extra keys cut they were slightly more expensive than Yale keys would be and I was told they were slightly thinner.I saw a Yale replacement cylinder on the Amazon site which, which was marked on the cylinder and the keys and was less than £8 more but came with 6 keys. This looks like a much better buy as I paid more than that to cut have 3 keys cut.

However the lock looks so much more solid than the usual unbranded locks. I can only assume that the change is due to the fact that the lock has been reconditioned. A quality product

Was an easy ten minute DIY install. I always put a new barrel in a rental property when I take it on, you never know who might have a copy of the key and so provides piece of mind.
