Sensational olive oil!
Since there aren't any shops close to me that stock products of such quality - I decided to try out this highly-rated extra virgin olive oil from Amazon. And I was not disappointed! It's a really lovely oil, with a wonderful fruity taste. Not too overpowering like some oils, it goes well with practically anything - whether it be elevating a simple tomato and mozzarella salad, or using in absolutely any recipe that calls for olive oil. It also tastes delicious dunking a bit of freshly baked bread into it. Close your eyes and you could almost be sitting under an olive tree in old Salento, Italy - well almost! The info on the packaging says that olive crops began in the region in 1200 B.C. So I guess they know a thing or two about producing top notch oils. Nicely packaged, the dark green tin states that it was harvested in Nov 2012, and even has a hand-written lot number on it. The only thing that's not 'gourmet' about this excellent product is the price! I will certainly buy it again. Fast delivery, it arrived in perfect condition. I received an email from the supplier saying that some tins had arrived with small damages, but they were at pains to point out that the packaging was being improved to rectify this. Very happy with the purchase.
