Love my fan
Great fan very attractive no dusting needed light has dimmer on switch at wall plus we also purchased remote fan has 3 speeds plus reverse or forward rotating around light husband put together very simply and installed light switch which we had to go buy different plates for wall different than we had. If you don't like it rotating you can put it stationary and can also tilt fans up or down just make sure always equal

the design is coherent - the restoration bronze being a beautiful colour with a decorative curvy amber tinted frosted glass ...
I own two of these, one in chrome and one in restoration bronze. From an aesthetic standpoint, the design is coherent - the restoration bronze being a beautiful colour with a decorative curvy amber tinted frosted glass shade - very attractive and evocative of Italian Mediterranean style. The chrome strives for a modern look with a sleeker, bright white frosted glass, but the overall appearance tends to verge more on a functional versus a sleek industrial or aeronautical look - which ever one it is attempting to imitate. It functions as advertised, including the capability of the two fans to rotate around each other on a horizontal axis, and both the wall and hand remote work fine - though one hand remote was DOA and had to be replaced. My main complaint is the fan speeds. The lowest setting barely stirs the air and is pointless. The second setting is very gentle, the 3rd and highest setting is a veritable hurricane - with the noise to accompany same (it is often mistaken for the sound of rain by others not in the room to see it is the fan). Basically, the second setting is what the first setting should have been like and there is a speed missing between what is currently the second and third settings. Otherwise, all who see it are suitably impressed by the form and concept. I, however, am mainly interested in the functionality and find that wanting.Rating revision: I have down graded from 3 to 1 after attempting to clean dust from same. The front grill is held to the back by screws, 5 per fan. Each screw has a 3 mm Phillip head profile so shallow and small, the screw driver is reaming out the head profile preferentially. So far I've gotten a total of 5 out between the two fans. If the remaining 5 one spins aimlessly without moving, the others refuse to budge even in the face of WD-40. The track in which the screw head fits is approximately 0.5cm, I can only get a needle nose pliers in, can barely grip the minuscule flat head and don't have enough room to turn the pliers more than I mm before it bounces up on the rim. Can't get a hacksaw blade in to cut the screws out either. It doesn't help that all actions are being performed whilst balanced on a 10ft ladder. Why can't I just dust it as is? The slots on the face grid are 1 cm apart. If you think in inches and not cm or mm, there are 2.54 cm in an inch and 10 mm in 1 cm. Basically you are dealing with 1/8" screws, etc. Only the flimsiest of dusters can fit in there to reach the blades and it is impossible to get a good wipe on the dust on the inner profiles of the cage. As a result, even with vigorous cleaning, there is still trapped dust and small dust bunnies that are becoming fossilized over time. When I do finally get the face off, I will have to find a solution for re anchoring securely. I'm thinking cotter pins, r clips or even cable ties, since the screws are useless and will be damaged beyond repair. Aesthetically none of the options are pleasing. For a $700+ fan, the entire situation is obscene. The manufacturer lost the plot. This is not a work of art to be admired solely for its beauty. First and foremost it is a FAN. Functionality should have taken precedence over form

Lots of wind and unique look
This fan puts out a LOT of air and is great on our back patio. It's loud enough that I don't think I want it indoors but outsides it's perfect. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the controller was a bit tricky to install compared to other fans I've done and it didn't work well with our double panel light switch, so that added a lot of complexity for an otherwise easy install.

Noisy for the amount of air flow but look nice.
Looks nice but kind of noisy for the amount of air flow. Our friends all like the appearance but it does not put out very much air movement and much louder then an regular ceiling fan. We have two on our screened in porch and may replace with regular fans as when they are on the 3rd speed it is hard to hear the tv.

We LOVE our new fan
We LOVE our new fan. It is extremely stylish, but it's function is equally great. Everyone that come in the house notices this fan; a statement piece for sure! Our electrician had no problem putting it together and getting it up and running.

Fan broke within 24 hours of installation.
The fan quit oscillating within 24 hours. Minka was responsive, but the troubleshooting meant getting back up to a 16 foot installation, and Minka won't pay for someone to come out and trouble shoot it. Not worth your time or money.

Gyro fan
This is the 4th gyro fan that I have ordered and I am thrilled with all of them. They are quite unique; delivery is quick and the product comes very well packaged. I have other metal colors in the other gyro fan but this restoration bronze is a color that will fit with virtually any color scheme. I ordered it for my kitchen remodel and it is mounted on a vaulted ceiling and is quite eye catching.

don't buy - this will break!
We bought this fan and had it professionally installed. It broke within 6 months. The wire for the entire fan broke - causing the light and the fan not to work. Total waste of money.
