Sankey 38 cm Growarm 100 Propagator Kit

One of the best propagators I have used
I like the size and sturdy feel of the Sankey Growarm, I have had it a few weeks now and on to my second batch of seeds, which are now 4cm tall cucumbers and looking very healthy. In the past I have used heat pads linked to temperature control in various sizes of (unheated) propagators, but it must be the build in heater and well insulated base that works well for seeds.I would recommend this propagator to both novice and pro alike as it takes almost no effort to use and the speed the seeds germinate was fast, I have not used it in a greenhouse yet, but as the plastic lid seems surdy and thick and with the insulated base, I don't see outside temperatures having a major impact. At the time I purchased this propagator from Amazon it was around £5, a real bargain at this price.

A greenhouse in your room!
An excellent choice to help you kickstart with seeds or cuttings, providing the necessary warm and humid enviroment that can boost growth and accelerate the sprouting of seeds. Not too big and yet not too small, with enough cable length to place it wherever you want . The small adjustable opening on top lets you regulate the humidity ,since you don't want to create a swamp inside your propagator. My only complaints are mainly these 2 :1)No on /off switch, you have to keep plugging/unplugging or use a timer plug, or a remote plug.2)No thermostat, which means that if you are not carefull you could damage the seeds or cuttings from excess heat (it can very easily exceed 30 degrees in some cases-especially if you keep the ventilator closed and don't use the damp matting). My advice: experiment a little bit before you actually put anything in it, by placing a thermometer inside, to get an idea of the temperature range, under different conditions(daylight, ventilator open/closed, damp matting e.t.c.)For its price, I'd say go for it!

Sankey 38 cm Premier Growarm 100
What a difference this has made to my gardening!I used to get a very poor strike rate on my seeds/seedlings but so far since having one of these Sankey heated propagators I've got a 100% success rate. This means that I save a lot of money on seeds and I don't have to plant as many as I used to, to allow for failures. There's not much to say about the product itself apart from it's very good value and does what it's supposed to. It's also very efficient as it only uses 8 watts of electricity to keep it warm and the water recirculates nicely due to the capillary matting that comes supplied with the propagator. Just keep an eye out for any mould that might appear on the matting as that'll ruin your plants if left for too long. If you do find some mould, wash the matting out in a weak dilute solution of bleach to kill the spoars and rinse thoroughly in water before putting it back in the propagator.Overall, it's a great piece of kit, I just wish I had bought one a long time ago.

Reliabile, and a how to for you
Absolutely brilliant when used in combo with root riots. I tear open slightly (the cubes), heat up the cubes in the dome until all stable heat (typically 35 degrees, seeds and cuttings like the heat, don't use mat). Soak seeds 12 hrs in water also warmed in dome same time. Transfer seeds to torn upon slightly cube, lay seed 3 mm down cut, make sure touching sides when in cube holder. Water more with same warm water. Lid on and forget for three days. If you REALLY have to check by gently opening a torn cube. You'll see roots then be gutted because you killed it! Within 5 to 7 days all sprouted. Give LOW light and gradually reduce humidity whilst gradually increasing light. Until dome off, then I pot in pebbles in old squash bottles with torn up bits of cubes in. Cover the sides from light and veg till "spring" with the dome off, heater on. Superb! Perfect temps. Nice reliable product.

Small but sufficient
Bought this to replace a much larger propagator but has been quite satisfactory. It heats up well and is nice and sturdy. Propagators don't seem very popular as this was one of the only ones I could find at a reasonable price! Very useful.

Great kit
This is not a large propagator but I believe an ideal size for anyone interested in starting to grow from seeds or cuttings, temp can be controlled by simply keeping the mat wet, damp or dry. I purchased plug plant trays although I did have to trim a little to allow them to sit neatly into the probabgator, seeded up and instructions followed and a week later I now have lots of little plants growing happily in the warmth of this unit. I have had it on 24hrs a day during this time as the temp in the shed falls to 10 degrees at night, I think I will be adding a none heated propagator to my collection to transfer these plugs into once well established. It's a first for me to bring seedlings on this way so will be a learning curve but I am impressed so far and will experiment with cuttings at some stage. If your thinking of buying one I would recommend this one.

Propergater
Product arrived on time but I have returned it because when you put the lid on it is to small it does not fit properly and if you put the two trays inside the lid will not go over them
