Q: Does this book refer to the parents as mom and dad? Looking for a book for a queer family.

This baby book takes a very child-focused approach. You will find that most references to parents are worded like "we loved," "we watched you grow," etc. We've recently updated the family tree and removed all labels due to various family dynamics to give customers the freedom to label each space to fit their personal situations. The only specific reference to any one parent is on the "before you were born" page where there's a photo spot for mom's belly and a blank to write what mom was craving. Hope this helps!

Q: Does this book have a place for handprints?

Yes...one page for foot prints and/or tracing of hands is available in this book.

Q: what is the size of the photo should we print/use?

The photo layout is designed to reflect Instagram square photos. The larger squares are 4x4 and the smaller squares are 3x3. We have found the "tiny prints" with Parabo will fit into the smaller 3x3 squares and the larger squares fit 4x4 photos. Parabo Press also allows you to crop your photos to square before printing. The "mini square" prints from Social Print Studio are 2.4," so a little smaller but still work well. Hope this helps.

Q: Does the book have a growth chart? And how do you get the handprints/footprints - can you use ink pad and is it included?

This baby book does not have a specific page designated for a growth chart but there are several blank pages at the back that could be used for this purpose. The handprints/footprints can be traced or stamped with an ink pad which is NOT included with the baby book. Hope this helps!
