So… wanted to give this press some uses before I left a review. At first, the only noticeable issue was the FISH SMELL that comes from this press. Our son literally came downstairs to ask us if we were somehow cooking fish in the studio. And he was upstairs in his bedroom.In the past year, the smell has gotten 0% better. We literally plug a fan up and aim it into the garage, to help ventilate some. We’ve pressed a total of 30 tumblers over the last year. During this time, other than the horrible odor, we found the temperature to be all over the place. Sometimes tumblers would scorch, other times they would be cool to the touch when removing from press. This means, you never know what kind of tumblers you're going to end up with. Could be burnt up, or no image at all.Today, while at work. I get a call from my wife. She’s home. Attempting to press 1 - 11oz coffee mug. The press was set to 350 degrees. As she was watching and waiting, the temp shot up to 500 degrees. She tried turning the press off. Wouldn’t turn off. She went to unplug it. Unfortunately the plug is not easy to get to. So it took a second. BEFORE she could unplug it, the cup shattered in the press and chunks of porcelain (or whatever material sub cups are made of) went all over the place. Not good.Will be buying a vevor to replace this absolute worthless hunk of junk. Hopefully will have better luck. Thankful my wife wasn’t hit with flying shrapnel.
