Exactly what I wanted to maintain some old Velux windows. Complete wth easy to understand instructions.

My Velux windows are all now about 15 years old and the varnish is coming off and is discoloured. So I've painted them white and they look great. But the windows were stiff to operate and the foam on the trickle vents had perished.I managed to do 5 Velux windows with this kit.LUBRICATION:I greased the hinges and parts and now they are as smooth as silk to operate.TRICKLE VENT FOAMIt's hard to get the perished foam off. You have to remove the trickle vent from the Velux window (by taking out 4 screws ) then scrape the old foam off using a chisel. My old perished foam had turned to a mushy goop!TRICKLE VENT FOAM SEALThis is an easy job. Pull the old foam out. Cut the new strip to the same length then push the new foam back it.OVERALL - It did the job well and the replacement parts are manufacturer quality. I've seen comments about the kit being overpriced. But after I spent an hour trying to source the foam seal I gave up. After all, £5 per window isn't a bad price especially if it lasts another 10 years. The instructions are just OK, but the YouTube video is very helpful. All in all an excellent kit

Quite expensive for what you’re actually buying which is essentially cardboard, spongey tape and a little grease.You could probably find these materials in your local stationery/craft and hardware shop and save at least have the price.Easy enough to fit. Removing the old tape was a nightmare. You’d think they could throw in some chemical cleaner with the price you’re paying.

Although this kit seems expensive, the effect has on the windows makes it well worth the investment. Windows are like new, and the kit was enough to renovate three of my windows.

just moved house and found the velux windows in very untidy condition - looked like they hadnt seen any attention since they had been fitted some years previously as they had old wooden blind fittings - removed the old gauze and washed it but didnt really improve the look. the foam had also deteriorated to the extent that it was crumbling off.this kit has rejuvenated the windows - real easy to use and good clear instructionshighly recommended if you havent been maintaining your velux windows for some years??

This is not the first time I've bought a maintenance kit for my Velux windows, which were installed nearly 20 years ago. Changing or washing the filters, replacing the felt, and greasing the moving parts is an important part of keeping them trouble free. If you haven't done that before you'll be amazed at the amount of stuff that accumulates on the filters in a year, even in a place with very clean air.

We needed to refurbish 3 small Velux windows while decorating our sons bedroom. We hadn't touched the windows in 15 years and noticed the grey foam had disintegrated. We looked at cheaper options to repair as this pack is obviously quite expensive but in the end decided to spend the extra few quid and use the proper stuff. Glad we did, it's high quality rather than an eBay gamble and all the windows are now sealed, greased and filtered... Maybe I'll spend another £26 in 15 years time...Recommended.
