Viltrox JY670 Ring Flash Compatibility..........
Before buying this pack I queried its suitability with my Viltrox JY670 Ring Flash. With the limited amount of characters given to pose a question, I managed to raise my concern over the difference in Voltage i.e. the extra 8 Batteries being used. Amid the replies (some pretty odd) the answer I was seeking came from Dee Hannaway who explained in detail exactly what I wanted to know. A very big thank you! The JJC FB-1 (II) Battery Pack works fine with the Viltrox JY670 Ring Flash, and the recycling time between flashes is instant. I've had no problem using it and would recommend it to anybody contemplating a purchase. As I use my Ring Flash for pre-staged close up/Macro work, I use a tripod and was a little disappointed to find there was no mount on the Battery Pack. For what it would cost to have one fitted I would have thought this would be standard. The description I found a little ambiguous, but accepted this was my error for not reading it correctly, therefore rating the Battery Pack on its performance giving it 5 Stars. Well worth buying!!!

Excellent product!
I purchased the battery pack to use with my Canon 580ex when shooting weddings. The pack is well made and can be screwed to the base of the camera or attached to a belt or camera strap using the case provided. I found it easier to screw it to the camera base as the cable connecting it to the flash gun was more conveniently placed. Even though I use a battery grip on the camera the pack didn't interfere when using the camera in portrait mode as it attaches to the tripod screw in the grip. The pack sits offset to the grip as the securing knob isn't centrally placed due to the length of the battery compartment, this meant that the shutter button on the grip was unobstructed. As for using the pack you simply add 8 batteries, (you still need 4 in the flashgun), connect the lead, and away you go. I used it the day after purchase and shot well over 800 shots without a single flash failure, and there is no sign of the batteries giving up yet. I would recommend using fully charged batteries in both the grip and the flashgun so that they all hold the same charge, and DO NOT take more than the recommended maximum number of 20 continuous flash bursts as this could damage your flash gun. An excellent product for the price, considering the genuine Canon CP E4 is £140.00!!!

Fabulous little battery booster and far better value than official Canon CP - E3.
I had the OEM Canon CP-E3 battery booster for my Canon 580EX II flashgun but after two years of moderate use it broke. Plastic got brittle and started buzzing then packed up. Disappointing as it £200.Got this as replacement, doesn't feel quite such good quality but performs much the same for ridiculously low price. Quite a bargain i'd say ...Seems just as fast as original Canon. Make sure you use Eneloop rechargeables as trhese are far faster than any others i've used and worth the extra cost.Give this a try as i really don't think you'll be disappointed.

Does the job well
I was a little worried when purchasing that this would be a "lumpy" version: bigger and less efficient than the Canon version. In fact I have to look closely when using to see which is which. I often use a three flash set-up for fast press/PR pictures - with a booster on each external flash the reset times are great - they do the heavy lifting while the on-camera flash triggers and provides a catch light. Whether it is as durable as the Canon version I must wait and see - third party camera batteries do not last as long as canon original but the price differential vastly outweighs the slightly more frequent replacement. To date very happy with this product.

Excellent value - works like a charm, better than cheaper alternatives
This is a great value alternative to the Canon CP-E4. I was wary about buying it but it has not disappointed. The performance of the flash guns I have tested with has greatly improved with shorter recycle times and extended battery life. See full video review here:This is much better than cheaper alternatives that look poorly made and in my case was dead on arrival. I used the JJC FB-1 on a 4hr shoot with no problems. I tested it with a Canon 580EX, Yongnuo YN560 and YN565EX all worked perfectly. It does add quite a bit of weight if used attached to the camera but you get used to it quite quickly and you can always used it strapped to a belt using the provided case.

Bob on ...
Does what the Canon pack does for a fraction of the cost ... decent build quality and handy case with velco strap to help protect and carry it around. If I had to fault it I would say the battery cover is/was a bit tight - but no real concern.580EXII fires like a machine gun with it attached - I have got no idea how many shots I can get from one set of (12x 2900nmha batteries) but needless to say, its A LOT and more than I have had cause for in one day as yet.Definitely recommended.

Super piece of kit
Super piece of kit. Shot a whole wedding with it without the need for any battery replacement. Pity it doesn't come with a shoulder strap, I found the belt position awkward. I used an old camera strap and added it to the unit, now it's perfect. (See photo's) One star lost for no strap, otherwise superb!

Worth it.
Have been using it for a while now and it seems to work great, spent the day taking pictures at weddings, and ad power for flash all day, obviously you will need to buy rechargeable batteries, which cost me about £30 more, there are cheaper rechargeable batteries but I used a well know brand, but it still makes it cheaper than others, and well worth it
