An encouraging book for beginners
I was looking for a book to help my grandson with his reading. He loves Transformers so I'm hoping this will encourage him to read to himself. The pictures are interesting and colourful and there is just the right amount of writing on each page. The books are short enough to read in one sitting.

Not for initial readers, still quite difficult and grammatically incorrect at times.
Overall good but some grammatical errors in the writing. Also could be quite hard to read for other words in text. At the end of the day my student is autistic and he loves them but they aren't very good to help him learn to read.

Not worth the money
These books were long awaited and unfortunately were a considerable disappointment. At £70 my expectations were high. Ten books of about 12 pages each measuring about 8x6 inches, four or five lines of text per page. Five books of short vowels and five of long vowels. My grandson is thoroughly taken with them but he didn't fork out the money. As a teacher, headteacher and adviser to schools pre retirement these are not worth the money. You are simply paying for the 'Transformer' logo. There are much better early learners out there!

Not great
As with most of the books with popular childrens TV and movie characters the quality of phonics text is quite poor. I would not recommend these as an aid to learning phonic words but the topic might encourage reluctant readers. Young/new readers might need a lot more support than they would from the main stream school phonics books. Songbirds and Biff & Chip were a better investment to support my child's reading at home.

very poor product
This set of books are very poor - they are the shortest stories in the world and they do not even flow with the pictures.example of a story set over 4 pages (yes they are that thin) - Rescue bots protect humans, they have different abilities, THE END! waste of money
