It's a visual expression, for an amateur, to understand the pyramid of scent and additionally some background over this perfume art. Nice illustrations, well structured, and easy to read through.

A beautiful book full of good information about the making of perfume. A must have for the lady who loves to search for their signature smell.

Wer sich näher mit dem Thema Parfüm beschäftigen will, hat mit diesem Buch eine gute Übersicht: Mateiralien, Einteilungen, Geschichte(n), grosse Marken und Nischen, etc. schöne Bilder. Etwas fraglich ist m. E. die eher alleinstehende Parfüm-Familie "Tropical", welche die Autorinnen benutzen, soll aber kein Grund sein, das Buch nicht zu kaufen. If you want to get into perfumery, this book is a good start to get some overview: raw materials, categories, history, stories, big players and niche perfumers, etc. and many nice pictures. The postulation of a "tropical" fragrance family is questionable, but should not be a reason not to buy the book.

Oh my! If you are a fragrance junkie like me, you need The Perfume Bible. While it is made more as a coffee table book, the pictures are absolutely stunning and the book has a lot of substance as well. I purchased this on a whim for books on fragrance for me to be able to do better research and provide solid information in my fragrance reviews. While this book isn’t exactly what I was looking for it still provides great information and insight into fragrance.

boek kwam eerder aan dan er werd vermeld bij aankoop. altijd fijn. blij te zien dat het effectief in de goede staat was zoals aangegeven want het is immers. jammergenoeg heb je dan een bezorgingsdienst die je pakket de brievenbus induwt die duidelijk te klein is voor het pakket. met nog eens regen erbij, verpakking goed nat. gelukkig is het boek nog steeds in de staat zoals het werd verzonden.
