Robust ribbon with excellent response
This mic takes me right back to 60’s when ribbons were king they were used for capturing nuances of voice, guitar and drums. They used to be rather fragile and I carried several replacement ribbons in my kit. This unit has the versatility of the old ribbon mic but is robust. I am going to get plenty of use out of this both live and recording. Se have as usual provided a product that limits the cons and enhances the pros.

Lovely mike.
Lovely mike. Have tried a few new microphones recently and this is refreshingly different. I hadn't expected it to be so good for voiceover work. The noise level is acceptably low to filter out v slight hiss without artefacts and compared to my other condenser mikes it has a very 'forward' sound and so smooth throughout the frequencies. I did have to work on the file to make it REALLY good with EQ adjustments in certain areas. The figure-of-eight produced a pleasing slap-back from a facing wall to add some 'presence'.

Brilliant budget addition to add colour to your palette
superb value mic to get a subtle ribbon sound that is useful in lots of applications. overheads, guitar - acoustic and electric, cajon - brilliant when paired with a PZM to add warmth to its crispness and a 57 on the front, and also great on vocals. Been using with a Fat man pre which makes it very warm but enough output to work with any of my pres or straight into the focusrite saffire. Paul White suggested I would be daft not to get one of these over lunch in the refectory - he thinks they might use the same/similar elements as the top end ribbons they do - or they are similar for a tenth of the price or whatever.
