Battery operated, LED lights on a flat cord make these fairy lights so versatile. The flat cord means the lights are embedded into the cord rather than sticking out like miniature Christmas tree lights. The LED lights are bright and the set features 8 different modes for you to select - either leave them steadily burning or choose at the push of a button from 7 different blinking variations. In total, you get almost 66 feet of lights divided between 2 strings of around 33 feet each. A waterproof battery pack with the control switch for each string is included - you can leave these out in the rain or snow but don't get nutty and completely immerse them in water. You could use both on a Christmas tree or outdoors to enhance your festive curbside appeal or you could use one string to add a festive touch to your wreath and the other in a glass jar with ornaments. The options are endless. The reel around which the light strings come is simply for shipping and storage and is not needed for use of the lights. Each battery pack requires 3 AA batteries (not included) to operate the strand. Because they are LED lights, these should be easy on battery use and the lights should last a long, long time. These light strings are a bit pricey but that may depend on how you intend to use them and how often you want to have to replace the lights in your project. Because the string is flat and the lights are embedded, it would be easy to store your wreath or garland, for instance, with the light string in place and ready for next year's use. For that matter, these colorful lights would add a touch of whimsy to your outdoor decor year-round and would be perfect for multiple applications such as your craft table at the next craft show, inside your gazebo or tent for outdoor parties, near the pool or strung around your fence line. Since they don't require an electrical outlet, there is simply no end to the ideas for where you might want to use these! Yes, you can pay less but what you get may not be waterproof and may need an electrical outlet to operate. These are an investment that is likely to last.

I love the amount of lights that come on these two spools. There are enough to make a statement on a line of garland or a smaller (4-5 ft) tree. These are multicolored and you aren't able to change to just one color at a time, but I assumed that going into the purchase based on the pictures.Compared to other fairy lights I have purchased (and looked at purchasing), these are a great value for the price. I especially like that they are on two spools, in case you don't need them all for a smaller project/decor setting.There is an instruction manual in the box that tells you the different options you have for the light frequency...like steady on, slow fade, chasing, etc... The battery case is very sturdy and comes with a secure latch to ensure the batteries stay in place.The box also mentions "18 hours off green light - timer is on". However, I cannot find a green indicator light indicating the timer is on, so I'm a little confused by that. I am assuming it's from the time you turn them on, then they will stay on for 6 hours and then turn off automatically, however I have not tested that functionality.The flat design of the wire is also awesome for clean up and storage at the end of the season.Overall, these are beautiful and add a festive glow to anywhere that you'll put them on!

I discovered these too late to use this holiday season, but I'm already making plans for them for next year. I'm definitely going to weave one of them into my front door wreath.These come wound on a spool (flimsy), and if you don't handle it too rough it can be used to store them when finished. They're very lightweight, and could be used almost anywhere indoors or out. They require 3 AA batteries for operation, stored in a water tight box. The operating button is on the box. They have a built in timer, which I haven't tested yet, of 18h on and 6h off. What I love most about them is the amount of light they put out without the bulk of traditional lights.In addition to using them for Christmas, I've also got other ideas for them. We do a lot of camping, and these will definitely go along on the next trip to decorate our campsite. They'll take up hardly no room with our other supplies, and will dress up our campsite.I could also see these being used for a kids sleepover party. What a fun way to decorate the room for them. The uses are as limitless as your imagination...

These little lights are awesome. What I luv about it is that they’re battery operated and IP65 rated for outside. They’re extremely easy to use, just put 3 AA batteries and use it anywhere you want without worrying about an outlet. The battery box has the built in controls via a single switch with 8 different modes. They’re supposed to be on a timer with 18off/6 on. Honestly since these are on batteries I don’t really care about the timer. I guess the 6 hours starts when you turn it on and stops when the timer runs out but there’s no diginital or any type of indicator so it’s hard to tell. As long as it turns off after 6 hrs of use I’m ok with it. I show the different modes in the video but I just leave it in first mode - combination. They’re led so battery consumption should be really low and it claims to be 66.6ft long. Looks good on my tree for next week or so and then off till next Christmas. It’s cheap enough where you can buy and not worry about it incase it stops working. So overall it does what it says, it’s easy, they're bright, battery operated and affordable

'Twas the night before Christmas and I still hadn't focused on decorating (it's one of those years)... So, I popped batteries into these.. draped one strand across the table on the few gifts, a plant, and some cards and these little fairy lights brought so much sweet cheer. I can't speak to how long the timer works (perhaps in the details), but at least from 1am to 7am for when my husband got up, he came downstairs to their happy glow.I used red masking tape on my glass door for the other strand, and criss-crossed the strand haphazardly for some cheery humor.Very easy to push the button (on battery pack) to determine which display makes you the happiest...blinking, all green static or blinking, etc. Lots of versatility!Each strand comes smartly wrapped around a wheel for easy unravel and easy return. VERY VERY pleased with these. They've brought a lot of smiles for this "minimal" season!
