Great range, great signal
Excellent range, especially from stubby antenna.

Surprising Range, Great SWR!
This antenna is perfect for tossing on a roof mount if you don't want a massive whip up there. I honestly got this for daily use without worrying about smacking my antenna on trees as we head into winter.Little did I know this would become my preferred daily antenna. I really only use my whip antenna for really reaching out or if I'm transmitting outside the VHF/UHF ham bands. Inside the VHF/UHF ham bands I measured 1.3 and 1.6 SWR respectively. Getting up into GMRS it peaked at 1.8 SWR but that's still decent for the price.Great little antenna. I'm interested to see how it holds up to road salt and other winter nonsense.

Buyer beware. These are NOT as wide band as they seem. NO VHF TX operations.
I ordered two of these and they both suck. They do not work on VHF / 2M better than an open coax without an antenna. UHF / 70cm they are just ok about 1.75:1. They work ok on VHF /2M receive as they have limited capture area. But they look nice and do appear to be well constructed just sucks they don't work as advertised.

Shockingly Good on UHF, less so on VHF
On UHF I’m getting really good performance. SWR is less than 1.2 up to 50w on 70 cm. GMRS is around 1.8. Able to get into all the repeaters in town. Obviously won’t be as clear as a large antenna but this thing hits above its size class.I would not call this a solid VHF antenna though. SWR is around 4-5 across the 2m band so I don’t plan on keying up at high power. Still usable to monitor the repeaters alright. You can’t really tell from the pics but on the RB-700 there’s a bit of a gap between the O-ring and the mount base, but that’s more the mount’s fault being so narrow. If it were surface mounted the O-ring would be fully sealed.I mainly use 70 cm and GMRS so the VHF isn’t a deal breaker. Overall a great little antenna I can run when I don’t want to risk theft or damage of my triband.

Great Performing antenna for amateur radio
This antenna works great. Performs as well as the 18" or 36" gain antennas. Don't have to remove for the car wash.

Perfect for RDF
Purchased 4 for the RDF array used on vhf. The unit calibtated and works well, especially close range. All must be nearly identical. Calibration proved that. Great quality

Poor SWR, weak Rx, Do not use on center of vehicle
Do not use on center of vehicle or even close to the center of vehicle. This reads SWR of about 7 on VHF and about 2.5 on UHF on that location. These are obviously made for side/bracket mount. Receive is also pretty weak and scratchy. Worth a try for the price, I suppose.
