Good price VS specs balance.
For the price it's a great device. You get a Mediatek SoC (MT8163) (Cortex A53 clocked at +/- 1.5Ghz + a Mali GPU T720MP2) that provides a good balance between processing performance and power consumption;2GiB of RAM (that do make a difference if, for example, you want to use Chrome without constant app crashes due to memory shortage...);16GiB internal storage (not great nowadays BUT you can expand that using the SDcard slot);A very nice and bright IPS-LCD screen, that is NOT Full HD BUT you will hardly notice that. IMO the color and the brightness is great for this 1280x800 screen. Plus a nice Oleophobic screen coating that gives the screen a nice touch feeling and makes it easier to clean;A decent Battery (Non-removable though :/ ) that lasts about 2 days with some above medium usage... but have not tested with "heavy load" non stop, so according to Asus it might last up to 11 hours strait streaming from Youtube); Not bad body and so far i would say great construct quality. The materials used look good, the weight is good and is thin.Cameras are what we get on most tablets... Decent but not great.Buttons placement are ok but i don't like the stiffness of the On/Off button... It feels like we have to press to hard.Sound is good for a Tablet. Loud and clear and built in stereo speakers. The unit has some nice extras like compatibility with "smart" covers that will lock-unlock the unit and "Double touch to wake and sleep" option.Asus did recently updated this unit to Android 7 (Nougat), and that is great. (for example native dual window/app at the same time support).

To please the SWMBO...
...the third Tablet in four years. All suffered early failure of the power supply or battery.Seems most tablets are so cheaply constructed that getting life beyond the expiry of the warranty is something of a black art even for well known names. After waiting for the Asus to be released into the UK market.I took the plunge as SWMBO was becoming frustrated with the constant need to be tagged to the power supply of Acer she owned previously. The Asus has a nice bright screen plays both her favourite games and lasts more than 45seconds off charge. In fact it outstrips the Acer in almost every way and started as poor from the start but her choice of tablet after the failure of a generic tablet with battery problems. The Asus may not be the top draw special, it may not be sexy and ultra desirable; BUT it does everything in a business like way. Out of the box it connected to the internet in seconds and the battery lasts hours and hours even when playing basic 'drop' and 'trail' games. This asus brings our connection with the company as customers to four items from desk-top to lap-top and tablet. You may not do better than the Asus without spending considerably more, what you might buy does not always not always guarantee that you are buying a better product

An excellent tablet for the money
I bought this tablet for my wife for her birthday recently after her trusty iPad2 bit the dust after many years of use. I tried another Android tablet (a cheaper make) first which was dire which I won't go into, however the ASUS ZenPad is quite the opposite and excellent for the price. I like it so much that I'm going to buy another for myself. The build quality is solid, and looks like it will last many years of general usage without any issue. The battery life is good, lasting a couple of days for general use, which for us involves mostly browsing, checking emails, basic app usage like Facebook and Pintrest and the odd Youtube video. We have also used it to watch a whole movie on and it didn't seem to overly tax the battery life. The performance is perfectly adequate for the above usage, I really don't think you'd have a problem unless you want to play high end 3D games (and if so why use a tablet?). The screen resolution is maybe a little on the low side, but it does the job.I should also note that the ASUS GUI overlayed on default Android works well, in my humble opinion. It also looks pretty!

Bargain tablet
Excellent tablet. I may not be the most demanding user, but this does everything I want at a fraction of the price of a I-pad. For video streaming, internet email etc, it works just fine. Screen is bright and clear and response is quick. Thumbs up!

Lovely product, but battery life poor
Very annoyed because the description wasn't accurate about the battery life of the product. It only had about 2hrs. Had to send it back so I'm out of pocket for almost a tenner because it wasn't free returns. Note to self, be more careful to read about returns especially when trader is not Amazon. Also, the whole process has taken almost 2 weeks. And hassle I could do without. I also bought a case for the tablet which I also have to return. Grrrr.
