Legend Of Korra, The: Turf Wars Part One: 01 : Michael Dante DiMartino, Irene Koh: desertcart.co.uk: Books Review: The Legend continues! In comic book form! - Turf Wars Part One is a perfect continuation of the show, taking place a few weeks after the end of the series. Much like the Last Airbender comic book series, even after the end of the series there are a few problems after "The End". Korra and Asami's relationship and how the outside world would view it (and an exploration of homo/bisexuality in the Avatar universe which is interesting), gangs popping up around Republic city after Kuvira's failed invasion and the President of the city showing his true colors, that of a grubby politician which you could partially see in the series. Awesome artwork, beautifully written characters and just the sense of the show being in a new medium is more than a reason enough to get this book. Review: Off to a great start - Korra and asami's relationship is precious, it is a delight to see the budding romance and intimacy these characters share. As far as the plot and themes presented, from LGBT issues in the avatar world, the insightful commentary on democracy, the rebuilding of a war torn city and the increasing intensity of human/spirit relations, turf wars part 1 is what any first chapter should be, a wonderful introduction to, hopefully, another great story.

Awesome artwork and story
Takes place right after series so you get to see how the writers and creators wanted to finish Korra. Glad to see Korra and Asami together.

Brilliant!
Great Story as usual, I feel the lesbian bit went on a bit too long but overall great! I just wish Nickelodeon/Dark Horse Comics could pay the actors to voice the comic that would be great and then it would feel like the good old days where there were episodes 😀

I think there is beautiful artwork, especially when in the spirit world
I think there is beautiful artwork, especially when in the spirit world. Good development of the Korrasami relationship. The villains are a little weak so far. I think this issue should've been longer to get a better feel for the plot. Read if you have watched the TV series, otherwise there probably isn't much enjoyment in it.

Great
My son love this book. We didn't realise it was written in comic form, but I think it works well for him as he read it twice in one day! He's read it about 3 or 4 times now. Will get the next one!

ITS BEEN 3 AND A HALF YEARS SINCE NICKELODEON MADE HUGE STRIDES IN CHILDREN'S CARTOONS WHEN THEY MADE KORRASAMI CANON IN LEGEND OF KORRA AND THEY JUST KEEP MANAGING TO CAPTURE MY HEART WITH THIS NEW INSTALLATION OF KORRA'S ADVENTURES. It's got amazing BISEXUAL representation, and an older lesbian(?) mentor which I just LOVE, AND LIKE, I love how its not a world where its your typical "lol what is sexuality i dont care" thing but a reflection of our own world so that when LGBT+ people read it they can really identify themselves in the narrative. Speaking of reflections of our world, it's commentary of refugees, tourist corruption, and political corruptions are issues that are touched on strongly in this, and I know it's going to get the commentary it deserves in part two. I'm so so so happy with this. ATLA and LOK is such a huge huge part of my growing up and this just makes me fall back in love with it again.
