Varta LED Day Torch with 2 x D Batteries

I have several torches including a powerful one with seven x D batteries. This Varta is lightweight, versatile, emits a good beam and is certainly sturdy - I have dropped it (accidentally) onto kitchen tiles, from a height of about four feet, twice without causing any damage to it or the tiles. It is very good value for money and is the best all-round torch that I have ever had.

Excellent torch - very bright. Only thing is, as a previous purchaser motioned, the beam is made up of a group of circles which takes getting used to. Do all LED torches have this - I don't know. It's quite robust so should hopefully last a long time.

What a fantastic torch. It's sturdy and easy to grip with a bright long beam too. It's a handy 'must have' torch for when you need one. Money well spent.

As others have reported, when the batteries ran out, I could not get them out as they are wedged in solidly. The end of the torch could easily get destroyed attempting to get them to move.

Extremlely happy with this torch. It is very well built, good quality materials and very robust. Torch light beam itself is brilliant, white led bulbs give brilliant strong white light which has a really good range. Would definately recommend to others and would purchase futre torches from VARTA.

Good looking torch, sadly it seems that Varta's investment was in the appearance rather than engineering and build quality. It should have been sent back to Amazon as soon as it was discovered that the batteries were a very tight fit (doesn't any one test products after production!). The torch stopped working within two weeks and the batteries would not come out, regrettably the torch broke in the effort to remove them. It is now in the dustbin and a replacement (another make) purchased from Argos, at least this one can be taken back to a shop if there are any problems.
