VAG Key Fob
This took a while to arrive but well worth the wait. The part that attaches to the keyring had broken off on my old key fob so after a couple of failed attempts to fix it with glue I decided to try this replacement. The quality seems to be as good as the original and its a simple job to fit the internal components from the old key fob into the new as the new unit is just a shell (there are a few good YouTube videos to explain this easy procedure). I only needed to use the top part of the fob which fitted perfect into the original. Brought as replacement for 03 year Skoda fob.

Be very careful!
If you change your tatty originals for these, you might end up selling your car and never seeing it again. Traumatic! I know! There is a transponder in your original key fob which will have to be VERY CAREFULLY removed and glued into this shell, In my case I was able to just change the key and the half with the damaged loop thingy at the end. If I'd had a little more time I would have Completed the whole job but someone bought the Passat and now I won't be able to blip it any more.

Quality is good and works great once put together. The pins were slightly too far apart for my circuit board and I had to make a few modifications to get the circuit board to fit on to the pins properly. Also the transponder area is not a snug fit, so the transponder rattled about, which I'm sure is not good for it. So I put a little blu-tak in there to hold it in place.

Does exactly as expected
Replaced my broken VW key. It's a bit fiddly putting old key component inside new casing but luckily my husband has done plenty of these. Arrived quickly too.

The only down side with the fob is that the imobiliser bit (fuse like shape) in the key did not fit into its compartment inside the new fob, so i had to cut out some bits using a knife to make the compartment bigger. Apart from that ππΎππΎππΎ.

Brilliant
Brilliant replacements for the original keys. Original keys had worn so much that the buttons were sensitive to the slightest touch or movement thus continuously locking/unlocking the car when sitting at home. Not too difficult to change over, except I overlooked the chip in the old key and wondered why the car was immobilized. The chip is a tiny glass capsule that sits in beside the metal cut part of the key. It is well stuck in and care must be taken to remove it. I broke the chip from the spare key, but fortunately the chip wasn't damaged. Both new keys are working well now. I would recommend this product
