THE ONLY TIN OPENER YOU WILL EVER NEED TO BUY.
I can only think of 2 or 3 things I ever open with a tin opener. Beans and Tuna.(And occasionally peaches)Since I moved out of my parents house (Over 10 years ago now) I have probably had to buy about 12 tin openers. They are tricksey little things, they look so trust worthy like they want to be your friend and have beans with you. But they secretly mock you and make your beans on toast time, harder work than it ever needs to be.They hate you for loving beans so they seize up, they misalign, they let their handle just spin and spin whilst the blade lays idle and watches a solitary tear run down your face because no beans have appeared. This however is a problem of the past, with this tin opener. In your hands, it feels so good, it's heavy and metal and you just know that it means business. It is sturdy, strong and it reassures you that it can show a tin who's boss. It also works like a charm everytime.Beans are now aplenty in my house again. It is true, you do get what you pay for, I don't think I will need to buy another tin opener ever again.

King of can openers!
At last - a can opener which opens cans! I have bought quite a few, over the years, including:cheap basic ones, some of which are fine, at least for a while, others I can't get to work at all;ones which operate horizontally, leaving a risky sharp edge on the can itself;those which work quite well for a while, but, sooner than one would expect, they fail - the cogs no longer mesh properly, the cutting wheel won't pierce can lids any more, or instead of progressing round the can, the thing 'spins on the spot';temperamental devices which open some cans right fine, but baulk at others - supermarket own brand cans especially! - either refusing to lock on to the edge at all, or mangling it instead of cutting cleanly. But this one is different. It's all metal, except for the riveted-on wooden comfort grips, rather than mostly plastic, and feels reassuringly firm in use. It doesn't wobble about on some cans or have to be forced onto others. The wheel turns smoothly, the cogs meshing accurately, without 'missing' or needing to be forced.I don't know whether it will survive for 10 years, as per the guarantee, but it feels as if it could. It's far and away the best can opener I've ever used and I wholeheartedly recommend it.

I would say this is a very good can opener
I would say this is a very good can opener, as we all know after you have bought a new can opener after a few months they are useless, well this new one I have just bought is a very good one and looks as if there is rather a long period before it shall be ditched.

don't last more than 9 months
I've had 2 sets of these tin openers within 12 months and they stop opening tins well after about 9 months and then drop off to spinning on the rim of the tin and not even piercing it. happened twice now so poor quality although nice and heavy and feel quality but gripping disk and cutting disk are both very sub standard. Expected this to last a lifetime, like my cheap £1 set I got from Tesco 15 years ago!

It lasted exactly 7 years and 1 month.
I quite liked this can opener, until it broke.

Opens tins swiftly!
I very much doubt it will live through its 15 years warranty, it has a very standard-looking cutting wheel and everything's put together as always; and it's possibly easier and faster (perhaps cheaper?) to replace at that point. But that said, I also would really buy it again! It's a very decent can opener that does the job well and fast without having to apply much strength (and I have tendinitis). I'm sure there are more comfortable ones, grip-wise, but how many cans does one normally open in one session? Can really recommend this; good toy for the price! Happily buy it again as & when it packs up (as can openers do).

Open Sesame......
Had this for 3 months+ and it does the job it's supposed to do and manages to look stylish at the same time. It's built to last with quality materials used throughout. There's less demand for this type of opener nowadays since the advent of ring pull tin tops but it's nice to know that when a rogue tin arrives this beauty is on hand.Only drawback I could find was that the edges of the handle on the rotating part of the mechanism were a little sharp - there's a lip that can dig into fingers and thumb when used. I filed it smooth with a throwaway nail file and all is right in the World of tin opening again.

... this for Fry Bentos (pies in tins) which are awesome, but broke cheap and expensive tin openers alike
Got this for Fry Bentos (pies in tins) which are awesome, but broke cheap and expensive tin openers alike. The fancy side cutting ones don't get purchase due to a sliding side. Seriously you'd not think a can opener should get a review, but this is really well made and just works. Also nice that it matches my knives and fits readily on a magnetic rail. Bottle opener is a bit naff (easy to slip, very little purchase).
