Interesting novelty
I like them for fiddling with and rolling in the hand but I actually really dislike the squeal, yes a squeal not a rattle, the make when used as directed. Still, for keeping ones hands busy and relaxing they are excellent so still worth four stars. Nothing that makes that kind of a squeal deserves five starts :). I just make sure that they can't come together from any distance to avoid the noise they make. Also, the finish isn't quite perfect with a couple of small imperfections on each 'egg'.

Surprisingly loud and difficult to put down
These knick knacks are quite good fun for what they are. They are quite strong magnets. They are very smooth metallic finished and nice to hold. It takes a little practice to seperate them in your fingers the right amount, to throw up in the air high enough for them to attract together and 'buzz' and then to catch them too. The buzz is actually very loud. The sound varies according to how far apart they were, how high you throw them (i.e. how long they have to rattle together), and how you catch them. The noise is almost an electrical crackle at times and has people looking around or walking in from the next room aksing what that noise was. I also found they work well if held apart ona hard surface and let go. When together they will roll over each other in your fingers or hold one and the other will turn on its centre. If they are nearby you want to fiddle with them so are good for fidgets. I deducted a star because after only a week or two there is some wear and possibly a tiny hole forming where they clash together. It doesn't affect them working.

Not what is advertised
The picture clearly shows the magnets being slid over the finger; the magnetism strong enough to join them together as you do this. Not so. The photograph shows the objects larger than they really are. The magnetism is very weak. They act as a de stressor just as any pebble would. It's quite annoying when they fall apart often, and often disappear down the chair. They are not expensive and serve as an object to feel during mindfulness - I'm rating them because they are not up to their written or photographic description.

RATTLE AND VIBRATING MAGNETS
COOL MAGNETS, NOISE MADE IS MORE LIKE UFO IN 60s FILM..........OCASSIONAL RATTLE. TRICKY TO THROW MAGNETS KEEPING THEM APART SO THEY RATTLE TOGETHER AND SING! ONCE MASTERED........10 MINS........V EASY AND PLEASING. MUCH BETTER THAN SPHERICAL MAGNETS IN MY OPINION.

Interesting and different
No complaints from the Grandson after receiving this as part of his tenth birthday. So I'm guessing it is good. At his age anything to do with magnetism and electricty is a sure winner.

Weak after a while.
Initially very impressed with how strong the magnets were. However, over a couple of weeks the magnets lost their strength which makes them a little redundant.

Curiosity for enquiring 8yr old
Son got them to replace broken ones, and he plays with them quite often, instead of leaving them in a drawer gathering dust.
