Alien Dogs!
I love Tara Lazar's work because she is always so fun and clever. This book begins with the premise of an old joke...if aliens looked at the earth and saw us picking up dog poop, they would assume the dogs ruled the earth and we were the servants. Some aliens, who happen to look like dogs make this very mistake. And hilarity ensues. Tara's bouncy, kid-friendly text is perfectly matched with Mike Boldt's colorful, almost claymation like illustrations.

Buy, buy, buy!!!
This has quickly become one of my 7 yo daughters favorites. We've already read it a dozen times in the short span we've had it. Finding a good kids book can be tricky, it has to be humorous and have the illustrations to match, and this one fits the bill. These are the types of books that keep kids reading! We have our fingers crossed for a sequel 🤞.

Dogs and Humor
Dogs and humor. What’s not to love? Plus bold, colorful, expressive illustrations by Mike Boldt. Tara Lazar has created a zany alien dog, BLOOP, who is sent away from planet XYZ for too many bloopers. The mandate: to take over crazy planet Earth to prove his leadership. Here, dogs rule. One of my favorite lines: “These were clever creatures indeed! They were everywhere – and so was their paralyzing interstellar slime!” You will laugh-out-loud as Bloop explores Earth, and cheer at the ending.
