I live in Florida and grow Aloe in these. I leave them out in the sun all day and all night; after 6 months, these show NO signs of degradation, NO sun damage, and NO fading! (can you tell I'm impressed?).These are VERY porous and aerate well, so they may not work very well with any plant that needs to hold water. Just to test them out, I tried using the type of soil that holds water (to grow some peppers) and the soil still dried out quickly (after a day or two) and didn't work for the peppers. Since i use them for Aloe (a succulent), they are perfect as they let the water run through them and they dry pretty quickly.These are strong and hold up well, even when filled with soil/sand/rocks.I carry them by the top lip and worried they would start ripping after time in the sun, but they do NOT! (the plastic planters i've used in the past start to crack and break apart after about 1 year in the same spot that i have these).take a look at the attached pictures, you will find they are still in excellent condition, even after 6 months in the brutal Florida sun. I used the flash in the one picture to provide a good view of the material - it looks a little grey-ish in that picture, but that's because of the flash. (I moved them to my garage for these pictures).I really like these and plan to buy another 50 pack in July/August this year. I recommend these for their stated purposes.

We start all bigger seeds and young seedlings in these bags!Strong, easy to handle.. watering is easy & plants do not set in liquid!Easy to move, carry and rinse clean.perfection .. in a cloth bag!

I am very pleased with these grow bags. They are very sturdy and the porosity is perfect to prevent overwatering. I will definitely purchase more in the future.

And remember there are no handles

The stitching is a nice option for this medium weight fabric. It is unclear how long the bottom will last. For my uses this is less of an issue than for others picking up wet plants by the top stitching.
