The clamp almost requires two hands to release. The arm is metal and easily supports the weight of the camera.

I really needed a flexible Mount for the camera I ordered to use as a baby monitor for when my granddaughter visits. The camera did not come with any mounting options other than tabletop or ceiling. I could not find anything online specifically for my brand of camera. There are SO many various camera mounts out there I figured something surely would adapt. Unfortunately most of them do not give the measurements needed to ensure a good fit. I looked at several mounts and after inspecting the way they attach to the camera I determined this one would be the closest fit. Based on the way it attaches with the two notches at the base of the camera. It arrived today and I am so excited! It ALMOST fits exactly. It is a little to loose! To snug it up I added some padding between the camera base and the adapter. First I used foam pads which first appeared to work but after removing the adapter (I mostly use the camera just sitting on a table for watching my dog so I wanted to be able to remove the adapter easily) I noticed the foam was mutilated. So I tried felt pads next. The felt pads were a little too loose. But the cork pads worked like a charm. So I can confirm, with a little padding, this Mount will work with the Vimtag Smart Camera model 8211. And probably lots of others. The twisting tail part of the mount is great!! Flexible yet very strong. There is a small hole at the end of the tail which can be used for anchoring it to a railing with a zip tie if it needs to be secured better to ensure it doesn’t fall. I doubt I’ll use that feature but would if I was mounting it more permanently. This Mount is worth every cent!!

I have been using this product for a few months now. It offers a lot of flexibility. I have attached it to my bed's headboard and can monitor the crib or the bed as the camera can turn around either way. Not the most aesthetic of stands but super-useful with a baby/ toddler. The best thing is that it doesn't need to be permanently attached anywhere- so no drilling/ retrofitting required. Highly recommended as the camera mount. However, beware, because of the design, it only fits the Tapo cam and will not fit another brand of cam.

This is absolutely exactly what we needed!! We wanted to avoid putting holes in the walls and we wanted to be able to move our cam around and this is perfect. We love that this is Sturdy and holds the came securely and the clip is strong. We use it on the crib, swing, and the bassinet :)

These clips are very stout and unlikely to come loose by themselves. However, no way would I clip it anywhere near where an infant or very young child could grab hold of one of these things. These do have a steel mounting screw which is much preferable than some cheaper, softer metals that will strip out the threads. It does come with a retaining nut to lock a camera into position which is unfortunately NOT stainless steel but appears to be aluminum. This is not a great problem but a sign of cost cutting and I’d prefer to have seen stainless steel at this point. This would work well with most cameras that take a standard quarter inch screw mount and there are a lot of cameras on the market for around 20 to 40 bucks that would be suitable for monitoring a child or pet that would be corded or battery operated. Keep in mind that if you go with a battery-operated camera that you’ll be removing to charge which will require remounting it into position and stressing that aluminum set screw. Even then, this should hold up for a couple of years if not abused. This is designed for indoor use but I see no reason why this couldn’t be put outdoors anywhere that the clip would fit. The worst that could happen is that the paint might flake after a couple of years or you might see some spot rust on the steel parts. You could mitigate that by simply applying a thin coat of petroleum jelly the steel threads holding the camera. I find it very amusing and a little insulted that when reviewing this camera clip that I was asked to rate its motion detection and night vision abilities. I have to tell you now that I've tested this clip and as a clip, it has very poor to no night vision ability at all that I've discovered. The only motion detection would be if it accidentally falls and you hear it hit the floor. Therefore, since it asks to rate the night vision and motion detection ability of this clip/mount and it fails on both, I must grade it accordingly.
