Excellent alternative to a jointer
Excellent alternative to a dedicated jointer. I bought a length of white melamine shelf for a few quid, rebated the depth of the clamp frame and screwed them on for a flush surface. I was really impressed with the quality of the edge it produced on the table saw, almost as good as any jointer produced edge. I put some very rough pallet wood through the saw using these clamps and once glued and clamped the joins were virtually invisible. Only gripe was that delivery from the US took several days, but I guess that is not unreasonable
