A real bargain.
I managed to wreck the ratchet handle of a socket set that I bought back in the 70's. It lost an argument with a heavy duty garden shreder into which I stupidly dropped it after using it making some adjustments to the shredder blades. My first thought was to consider buying a new socket set. I didn't need anything elaborate and it did seem that Amazon UK could supply something in the £20-£30 range that would suit my needs. However, there was nothing wrong with the socket set I had. Well, aside from the ratchet bar handle that is. The little ball bearing widget that sockets snap onto had popped out of its retaining housing due to the "accident" with the shredder. Could I find a replacement ratchet handle. Well, yes I could. This silverline product was attractively priced at under a tenner, had some good reviews, and aside from no rubber handle grip looked to be identical to the old one. I ordered it on Saturday, late afternoon and and it arrived the following morning! It is just the job. Indeed, the "press to desnap socket" feature makes it better than the old one - it could be a wrestling match to get sockets on and off the old handle. The length is identical to the old handle too so it fits into my socket set cas. Overall, its a perfect replacment. The only downside to my purchase is that I paid £9.24 - it was a bargain - but I see that its now £7.54 with free delivery. If you need one, go for it, this is an amazing price for such a quality item.

This item is poor quality
Unfortunately I have only started using my Ratchet recently and it is already broken. Absolutely terrible as only recently purchased.

Does the job
Was just what I wanted for a good price. I only wanted it for light work and I’m not too sure how sturdy it would be in heavier work as it feels quite light in the hand

Made to a budget
This didn't cost very much, but it does the job - for now. The quality of the finish is poor and the dial on the head doesn't inspire much confidence at all. It feels loose and doesn't have a positive action when twisted. I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't last that long.

Good for the price
Not bad for a cheap item. Does what it is meant to do. I orderd the wrong size so had to request for it to be sent back.
