Excells in some areas, not in others
So this is my 7th Imou camera - I've had these for years and been really happy with the performance & cost / value. Saw this one on a sale and since I wanted to add a 360 one, I went for it.It's bigger than I thought - not necessarily a bad thing but I prefer them smaller. I can see this one from across the garden. I love the flat charging cable as it's easier to put through a window frame. The picture is just ok - the angle is not as wide as my other (old - HD, also Imou) camera and the colours, especially green are not great - see the photos. I've added the 2024 2k (1st pic) and for comparison my old HD Imou camera (2nd picture). The image is overall sharper but not impressed with the colours and view angle - even though you can obviously move it around.Performance - wise, it's all good and I love the new "favourites" feature. Detection works well and the spot light is pretty bright - muchbrighter than on my other cameras. Adding it to the app was easy, took only a minute or so. Recording works fine - same as other cameras I have. All in all - a good camera that works well. Highly recommended to all.

Impressive Camera and Outstanding Customer Service
I initially purchased the Imou 2K outdoor camera for my garden and was so impressed by its performance that I ordered a second one for my front door shortly after. The image quality is excellent, and the setup was straightforward. The first camera has been running flawlessly from day one. However, the second camera had connectivity issues from the start, frequently going offline and sometimes failing to load entirely. Despite troubleshooting and keeping the firmware up to date, the problem persisted. I reached out to Imou's customer service, and they quickly responded with helpful advice. When it became clear that the issue was likely due to a fault with the camera, they arranged a replacement without any hassle. The replacement camera has been flawless and performs just as well as my original one, restoring my confidence in the product. Imou’s after-sales support was exceptional, handling my concerns promptly and professionally, which truly makes a difference. I am incredibly pleased with both the camera's performance and Imou's excellent customer service.Highly recommended if you're looking for reliable security cameras with a brand that stands behind its products!

Only worked for 6 months - very poor support
This camera appeared well built when I got it.Connection to my home WiFi was more difficult than other products I have installed. The image quality was good and tracking worked well. The app which controls the camera has been poor and has been updated several times which required reinstalling amd security set up.Over the last few weeks I have noticed that the camera has been offline when I check it, after a reboot it connects again this is happening almost daily now. However it isn't the power unit as the senor (and light) still work but the camera doesn't.I contacted support and was passes from one department to another. As a resolution I was sent a series of pictures which with foreign text.I will find a replacement unit from a better quality supplier with better customer support, I suggest you do the same .

Excellent value for money
Really easy to install and set up. Picture quality excellent along with people/vehicle recognition and tracking. Twin built in LED spot lights are bright. Build quality quality and Wi-Fi response very good. Would recommend.

Bit of a mixed bag, but okay overall
The video quality is pretty good, seems a bit better than some similarly priced competitors which is the most important thing. Sound quality is a bit hit or miss but no worse than other outdoor cameras I've used. I think the 3K claim is a bit misleading though. The resolution looks to be the same as the 1080p setting but it looks like the 3K setting sharpens the image basically. The night vision is decent, though my white car roof takes up about 1/4 of the view so with the IR shining on it, the camera tries to compensate for this and makes the image too dark so I can't see what's in the distance (and the camera won't detect people if it can't see them) It would be good if we could adjust the exposure or set an area for the camera to meter the exposure from. The worst part for me is the AI detection, it's pretty useless IMO. The problem is, I have this pointing at my driveway which is in a communal garage area where two other parked cars are visible in the view. Sporadically I get notifications saying "vehicle detected". Sometimes it's almost every minute and sometimes it's hours without a notification but none of the cars have moved. Looking at the bounding boxes of what it's detecting the cars randomly appear and disappear as far as the camera can tell. I've even turned the sensitivity all the way down and it hasn't made any difference. I don't want to turn it off though obviously... It seems the AI is not very intelligent and can't tell the difference between a parked car and a moving one. That only gets worse when it does track a moving vehicle, as the other vehicles are "moving" in the frame according to the camera then the camera moves randomly all over the place. It needs to be able to identify a car that is actually moving. I'm currently paying for the basic plan, and the higher priced plan claims to include more advanced AI including animal detection but I don't really want to pay any extra just to find out...Speaking of movement, you can set favourite positions of the camera for it to move between when you pick a view, but it's not great at accurately going to the same position each time. But, I suppose I can accept that as most of the time it isn't moving and it is a budget device really and works well enough. It moves between favourite positions faster than the speed you can manually control it at so maybe that's why. The generic "motion detection" doesn't work with the smart tracking. You need people or vehicle detection turned on.The two way talk works alright, however, weirdly, in the recordings you cannot hear the voice of the person talking through the app out of the camera. You can only hear the people who are talking to the camera. I would prefer to be able to hear my voice in the recording should I ever need it as some sort of evidence.Note you cannot download whole clips from the app without paying for one of the plans, but you can watch something back and "record" it to your phone/tablet. You also can't easily take the card out to copy all the footage off as it isn't a standard video format, but I wonder if that's intentional so a thief can't watch it back easily. You can record to an external DVR if you wish, but for me that wouldn't be practical so I'm sticking with the SD card.I can't comment on the WiFi as I'm using the ethernet connection, but because I'm not using the WiFi it does make me wish I could remove the antennas from the camera. They make it look like it's using WiFi and more likely to get targeted I think. The connector on the wire is rather bulky and needs a big hole drilled in the wall (about 20mm) if you want that part not outside. The wire is rather short as well but it reaches through my garage wall which is two bricks thick. It probably would have been better if this were POE without the additional 12v socket, and had the RJ45 connection in the camera housing (sealed of course) so it didn't need such a big hole.Overall if you want 24/7 recording with mains power and no battery to swap, it's good for the money but some of the selling point features could probably function a little better.
