Have fun with lockpicking basics
Packed in nice little box. Full set is of nice quality, nothing special but for the money it is quite ok (I like the metal handle better - but this is personal thing). The lock (not the padlock) does have different pin layout on both sides (so you have 3 locks to practice). This is nice set to start or as a gift for starters. This may be also good gift for all these old phreakers that +20y ago landed stable corporate job and miss the old rebellious times. Since telephone lines are more secure, unix machines are not so easy to p0wn (of course if you would have more time, but kids and stuff... and familly will not be happy if you got jail time for downloading research documents from MIT) this may be good thing to feel that thrill of getting skillful in lockpicking (at least in the basics). Maybe you have read about lockpicking in your happy rebellious days of 1990s - now you may try at home.About that MIT documents... well, the "e-book" is actually "MIT Guide To Lock Picking" (1991) by Ted the Tool, so old "various hacking skills enthusiasts" (like me) probably know it. If your duckduckgo (or google, if you have to...) skills are below average I can describe it this way: information is accurate but basic, enough to deal with given locks; there are nice graphics (no photographs) and some legal information (probably quite outdated, so verify yourself); you can print that on mono printer and will be fine. There are books on the market that provide more information but the free pdf if quite ok for starters (and for this set) - if it is not, I doubt the other books will do the job... you can always search the net for more info. One more thing: nover force lock to move with your picks! There are lever tools provided in set for that, picks are quite flimsy and should be only used to push pins! They will brake under rotational force - this is normal, they have not been provided to force a lock to rotate.

It works. Plain and simple.
This was delivered in double quick time so more than happy.I am new to the art of picking and I have had a previous set of lock picks but the value for essentially 3x practice locks is great (the barrel door lock is a different tumbler set up on either end!).Neat, tidy, good collection at first glance. The basic torsion wrenches (of which there are 3) are very light weight metal strips and will take a bit of getting used to compared to more robust thicker metal ones. The picks are for the most part sharp, rather than rounded.Within a short time of scrubbing and general fiddling I have opened the padlock and one end of the barrel lock, so what GG have provided me with fits the bill. Now I have got to learn how to do it properly, choosing the best tool for the job. Thanks!

Great fun, decent price.
Good product . Decent build quality, comes with ample picks and two training locks .Had me amused for hours, like a puzzle for adults. Keep practicing on small locks . After a few hours I can now pick my patio doors open, along with my front door. This would make a decent stocking filler at Christmas for an adult, or a good training aid for a lock Smith apprentice to learn his trade.Instruction e book via email- woeful book from 1991. You Tube contains a plethora of training videos.

Good beginner lock pick set
Nice kit with a good selection of tools. This is my first kit so I'm hardly an expert but I would say quality is decent. The practice locks were keyed differently but fairly evenly on mine so easier to rake than pick but both are possible. I picked all three practice locks within minutes but I am still using them to hone my skills. The ebook link supplied via email does help to understand the picking process but some may learn faster from internet videos.I would buy again. It makes a great gift or a fun way to kill some time.

Nice set - but far too easy
Nicely presented , complete set of picks, the perspex locks were investing to see the workings - but I am no expert and I could pick them first time in 5 mins - and afterwards in 30 seconds. And unlike other reviewers - the cylinder lock was the same both sides. No challenge and don't feel I have learnt anything.

Good quality lock picking set
Not much to say about this set. Quality tools for the price you're paying, nice transparent training locks with matching keys (two copies of the keys). I've been able to pick both locks, as well as my front door lock (one of them, at least) with these tools. The only thing that I'd point out is that the padlock is a bit too easy to open, but works well nonetheless.Delivery was on time and in good condition. Would definitely recommend both the set and the seller.

Absolute garbage, blisters guaranteed
If you can't pick the lock in 30 seconds or less your fingers will get sore manipulating the razor sharp steel strips that hold in the tips. Also, the tension tools are hilariously cheap and offer no feedback at all. They are crudely bent offcuts that bend out of shape in minutes and have to be straightened even under light to moderate tension. The tool tips are way too angular and need modifying.Save your money and buy something else, these are junk. You'll use them a few times and need a new set to stop the blisters. It's a good job I don't use a pen at work because I couldn't hold one after using these

Awesome!
I purchased this kit as a gift for my Dad and it was very well received. It's presented nicely in a branded box and all the piece, particularly the locks are great quality. My dad had the padlock picked within a few minutes, though I'm still yet to find out if he managed to do the baller lock. It was such good quality, I'm thinking of purchasing the kit for myself. Even when the locks are opened, you then go on to use the included picks to try your hand at real padlocks / barrel locks. So, essentially it's a training tool...and a practical tool set. Recommended!
