Beautiful, well made, high quality wool blanket
I would give this blanket 6 stars if I could. This is a really nice military-type survival blanket. Military-type blankets were issued to be used on cots or to sleep on the ground. They are an appropriate size for someone to haul around all day in their backpack and still be able to stay warm at night. The description clearly states that it is 66โ x 90โ; a twin-sized blanket is 60โx 84โ. It will not fit on a larger bed. I bought it with the intention of keeping it in my car for emergencies but itโs so pretty that Iโm using it as a lap blanket. I bought another one to use in the car. It would be a really nice gift. It's very well made. The weaving is surprisingly tight and the stitching around the sides is exceptional. You can see from the photos that a serger was used to hem the blanket before the decorative stitching was added. I expect this blanket to hold up very well. The description says 80% wool but the label says that itโs 70% wool, 30% synthetic fibers. It is $17.99, so I donโt care. It will keep me warm even if itโs wet, it wonโt burn easily, and I can put it in the washer. If you want to wash wool, it HAS to contain synthetic fibers so it wonโt shrink (use the delicate cycle and cold water only). I avoid using the dryer. Wool isnโt necessarily fire retardant but it doesnโt burn easily. Synthetic fibers such as polyester, nylon, and acrylic melt and stick to your skin; which makes a burn much worse โ doctors have to remove the plastic before they can get to the burn. If you tossed a cotton sweater into a fire it would burn up, the synthetic one would be a melted pile of mess, and the wool one would be singed. If you know youโre going to be working around a fire, wear natural materials ONLY! (Including your shoes) Natural fibers are short in comparison to synthetic fibers and are going to pill and shed. When you put the blanket in the washer and dryer to remove the loose fibers, you are literally pulling the fibers out of the blanket โ all of that fuzz is your blanket! Wool is covered with lanolin, which causes most liquids to just bead up on it and itโs easy to sponge off most dirt. When you wash your wool blanket, youโre removing the lanolin. Try not to wash or dry it. Sponging it off and airing it out is the best way to care for wool. I wear wool sweaters during the winter and wear a cotton t-shirt underneath to absorb perspiration and odors so I donโt have to wash them as often. When I opened the package, the blanket didnโt smell any worse than a new pair of jeans would when it came out of the same package. The odor was faint and slightly odd. If anything, it didnโt smell enough like lanolin. I hung it over the shower curtain rod for 24 hours to air it out and that little bit of odor is completely gone. This blanket is really soft but it isnโt merino wool or cashmere. I know this about wool and it doesnโt bother me. Last November, I bought another, more expensive wool blanket for my bed but I like this one much, much better.

Unbelievable quality and value!
I would rate these blankets 6/5 stars if I could. If youโre thinking about getting one of these at all, do not hesitate to order - in fact, not to sound like a blanket shill, but you should probably order more than one. I ordered five of these at once to give as Christmas gifts because of the value for the purported item. Having been shopping around for wool blankets for a while now, I was very skeptical due to how shockingly low the price was, as well as the fact that there are two different sizes described in different areas of the listing. However, I figured that even if the blankets were the smaller of the two sizes, and/or if they were a bit lower quality than suggested, I wouldnโt be out much - if they werenโt giftable, then worst case scenario I could donate them to my local warming shelter and theyโd still serve a worthy purpose. BUT! Theyโre amazing! Iโm so glad I took a chance on these blankets because theyโre genuinely wonderful - like, I kind of feel like I won the lottery (albeit an admittedly smallish lottery). Theyโre huge, theyโre incredibly soft right out of the box despite the high wool content (70%), they have zero smell (neither any sheepy smell nor the petroleum-y smell that camp blankets often come with), and they came packaged individually wrapped with a satin bow that matches the embroidered border stitching! Theyโre even in color and weave and they donโt have any of the composite look that many camp blankets have. They actually donโt seem like a camp blanket at all, tbh - definitely more like a blanket that is intended for bedding. Thereโs really nothing negative to say about them. The only thing I can think of to note is that I think the listing photos make them look like theyโre cream-colored with red stitching, but in reality, theyโre more of a light/medium, natural looking gray color and the stitching is a deep, violet-tinged wine red. Because these go above and beyond any of the other blankets I bought as gifts, Iโm now returning all the others - all except one, because these blankets are so nice that I have literally no choice but to keep one for myself :)

Serviceable wool blanket
I need blankets that are warm but not too heavy because I have a small laundry unit & prefer natural fibers. Many blankets fit but, once wet, become too heavy for the machine to handle. This one worked fine - I know wool doesn't need to be laundered often, but I always wash new items before using. We have short and intermittent but miserably bone-chilling damp winters, so I don't like spending a great deal on something that's used for maybe a month of the year. This blanket fits across a full sized bed but hangs over only about an inch around the top of the mattress, so not one that could easily be shared, but it's inexpensive enough to buy two. It's very warm and cozy, a little itchy but not when used over a sheet. No chemical smell whatsoever. I took off a star because it's utilitarian in appearance and not beautiful & it could be a little bigger to fit a full sized bed - but it seems geared to keep in cars for emergencies or for camping, so that might be unfair. Recommend this blanket if you need some inexpensive warmth.

Totally amazing quality for the money, extremely happy with this purchase
I am convinced that most of the "bad reviews" by people that have bought wool blankets are from people that don't understand WOOL. Launder them CAREFULLY (gentle and with cold/cool water and with wool-specific cleaner (Woolite) and tumble dry them in gentle mode at low temperature. Also you don't want to launder them often, they don't need it, laundering should be infrequent or they would deteriorate. Of course any wool blanked will leave some lint the first couple times you clean them. I am stunned that this blanket only sells for less than $20? Mine has very nice consistent cloth, no voids or thin areas, and the same hue of color throughout. What amazes me most is the really attractive hemming around the perimeter to keep the blanket from fraying on the edges, it's quite attractive. THE COLOR is not like the picture, it's HEATHER GRAY WITH DARK GOLD HEMMING. Also, THIS BLANKET IS LIGHT WEIGHT, probably about 2.5 LB, whereas the typical winter wool blanked is about 4.5 LB. I bought it for this reason, I have heavier wool blankets for winter but wanted something for spring & fall that wasn't too warm. This one is PERFECT for that. It's May at the time of this writing, and the weather is still in the 60's most nights, and I've been using this blanket and it is perfect, it gives the nice natural feel of wool (doesn't suck the energy out of you like a synthetic) but isn't so thick that it smothers or overheats you. This would be a perfect blanket to keep in the car for emergencies, or for camping, it folds up smaller than a full weight wool blanket. Overall I am 110% happy with my purchase. ALSO NOTE THAT THIS IS A SMALLER SIZE of blanket, when put on my "full" size bed it just reaches the bottom and only hangs over the bottom about 4 inches, so if you want it to drape down further than that, this isn't the blanket for you.

Material listing is incorrect
This listing calls out this is 100% wool, the main reason we bought this item. After receiving the item, the product label calls out only 70% wool and 30% Polyester. It's a nice blanket and we'll keep it because the price was right and the product looks good, however if you are looking for 100% wool, beware, it is not.

Nothing keeps you warmer than wool!
I am happy to say this blanket is truly ๐ a cozy way to stay warm. Whether at a outdoor game, camping or looking for extra comfort from the cold, this blanket is for you! Nothing holds body temperature like wool. It's also fire retardant and washable! I bought the oatmeal colored blanket which lends a nice neutral shade to blend in anywhere. I've thought about getting a duvet cover to help keep it clean and stylish but honestly this shade is perfect. I'm considering getting another one just for the Van if in the event winter comes and the Van breaks down. I am thrilled the price was so budget friendly. I also wanted to mention that there was no offensive animal smell as I've found sometimes with other wool products. Yep, there are lots of things going for the "Woolie", and I'm glad I own it!

Does not hold up
I loved this blanket when I first started using it. Great color, very soft, but after a couple of months it started pilling, large pills. At 4 months it is so bad, bumpy, it is no longer comfortable and Iโve stopped using it

A wonderful purchase for a very comfortable wall blanket
Fantastic wool blanket, and very warm on cold nights. Also, the wolf feels rather smooth and not scratchy.

We like it
Warm, yet light weight good for Canadian winters at home. Contains wool poly mix. My kids like it, I like it and even the dog will choose to sleep on it. Grey with maroon stitching is attractive enough for the living room .

Camping blanket
It's nice to have a blanket I don't really care about. This thing is my poor used and abused workhorse whether I'm in the woods or on the tundra or just looking to pad whatever I've got in my rucksack. 10/10
