I really like the base of this as it is a solid piece of wood. When I looked at some of the others, they looked flimsy. This is a joy. I have already ordered one for my friend.

I love this little Zen garden. The sand is so fine and the little pieces are adorable. The tools it comes with are a little bit cheap, but everything else is good quality.

This is one of the best zen gardens I've seen for the money, with many accessories. Unfortunately, the sand rake feels very cheap. The rake must be held vertically to use, not like a regular rake. Our rake arrived with one of the tines unattached to the rake. The handle and some other rake tines are lose, so we need to get some glue to fix the rake. The other accessories all arrived in excellent condition. The colors are soft and soothing, not bright and shiny. The packing was very good/sturdy and made this certainly gift worthy.

My sister is really into zen and peace, so while in her times of stress, I set this out on a nightstand in the hall for her. She absolutely loves it. For some reason, she just gets so mesmerized, and goes back to what she's doing, a lot calmer. Comes in a beautiful box that's ready for gifting, and everything is easy to assemble.

I have this on my desk and love it! Seriously everyone needs one of these mini zen gardens. To me this kit is worth the asking price.

I ordered this Zen Garden for my 10-year old who loves mine. It is way better than I expected! The accessories that come with it are durable and well made. The sand stays in the tray and overall, this set is fantastic!

If you have cats do not put this in an open area. The texture balls will be their new best friend. I wish the tray connected to circular base.

This is different from other 'zen garden kits' I've had in the past. In the past the ones I have typically bought are much smaller and d not come with the accessories except maybe a small rock or two and a rake. I like that this one comes with extras.There are these cool balls that have patterns on them. You roll them around on the sand either randomly or in a strategic way and they make patterns on the sand. I also love the little red Japanese pagoda and lantern.The rocks are polished and are easy to come by in many stores (you pick them out and fill up a little bag of them). I prefer natural looking rocks but that is easy to come by as well (outside) so you can do what you want there.I really enjoy having these around. I put them out on my bookshelf and I find that often my teens or friends visiting will end up moving it to my dining table or end table and designing a 'garden'. I guess they really are soothing.
