Brilliant - always use Jim Dunlop big stubby 3ml
These were well priced, the actual plectrum’s are fantastic, they are extremely dynamic with a fantastic attack. They are the perfect thickness and are comfortable to use. They give a smooth release due to the shape of the tip - highly recommended. The price was good. The only downfall was that you had to buy two packets but being a frequent user, this was not a problem. They last well and feel even better when worn in.

Great for lead guitar
For general lead playing and shredding these are perfect. Excellent grip and nice smooth edges. Always been my favourite.Chords however are harder to play when compared to thinner picks and these wear down quite quickly.

Surprisingly good
As a long-time user of orange (occasionally blue) Tortex, I decided to try something much heavier. I'm surprised at how quickly I've adapted to these. They introduce a new tonal depth to acoustic playing, and aren't slippery to hold, as I'd feared. I'm still using mainly tortex, but these stubbies have their place.

All I use
Pointy and slick enough to be fast, fat enough to be sturdy and grippy enough for summer gigs. They do get a bit of a ‘lip’ from aggressive flat picking on acoustic, but I actually keep the ones that get this aside sand that lip off with 600 grit paper when there’s a few of them in the ‘used’ cup. Some of mine have been in circulation since 2017!

Comfy and easy to use.
I recently had a pick revelation when I went from a .75mm pick to one of these bad boys and levelled up, instantly improved my ability to perform some techniques, highly recommended for heavy playing but also gives huge dynamic control for cleaner players. It's made of fairly slippery plastic that seems durable and glides across strings nicely but stays pretty comfortable to hold thanks to the dimples on both sides.

I wouldn't have believed a pick could be so influential
Over the years, I've tended to treat picks as simple alternatives to using my thumb. It wasn't until I encountered the book 'Picks' by Will Hoover ... Picks!: Colorful Saga of Vintage Celluloid Guitar Plectrums that I started to think about them in more detail. Soon after, by coincidence, I needed to buy a couple of new picks, and decided to try something different. A 3mm pick was one of those and I was astonished by how much it affected and improved my playing. Obviously, this was just my respone and others might well not like them one little bit. What suits one person, won't necessarily suit another. At 3mm, these 'stubby picks are definitely chunky, but the textured hollow on each side makes holding them a real pleasure. The thickness also makes them totally inflexible which helps me play faster and more accurately or - as I prefer - to play slowly and with more feeling. The connection with strings feels very positive and you can be both subtle and delicate on the top strings, and as beefy and doom-laden as you like on the bottom strings. It's all a matter of feel and how you respond to that feel ... these have just been my reactions. Suffice to say, however, that I have now put all my other picks into a small plastic bag, labelled them, and donated them to a local charity shop. These 3mm picks suit my needs to perfection, so I'm ordering a few more just in case I lose some.I've uploaded 5 images which will hopefully help you judge the size and usefulness of these larger stuuby-style picks.

Great for jazz and lead playing
Great for fast picking and gets a nice chime from the strings when mixing that with a strum. Wouldn't use them strumming an acoustic but great for jazz or lead playing

Good pick
Its a nice pick that’s comfortable to use. Took a bit of getting used from my regular picks but when I did it was really nice. The little dip allows me to grip it better unlike my other picks that slide out my hand.

Exacto
