We have a shed at the far corner of our back yard. Walking out to it after dark is perilous, so we wanted to add an outdoor light. A motion detector wasn't appealing because of all the critters that would set it off (as happens with the motion detector on our garage light). This gizmo sounded promising, so I ordered one.It works perfectly! We can turn the light on from inside the house, about 70 feet away. We haven't tried the timer function.It adds about three inches to the length of the socket, so we selected a fixture with plenty of room and a small LED bulb, though there's room for a full-sized bulb if needed.It isn't often that I find an item that provides so much utility for less than ten bucks. Recommended if your fixture has room for it!

I bought two of these remote light switch units in hope I could control my porch light, both from inside my home and use the second control to to control same light from my vehicle. Nope, they have fixed codes and cannot be changed by the user. That’s OK, both units function great individually, which is exactly as advertised. If you are looking for a reliable way to control a lams remotely, these will work.
