PERFECT !
Looks well made. Classy finish. Works perfectly (as long as you wind clockwise to 55min then back to time required!!! this winds the clockwork mechanism). Muted tick & loud ring 2-3 secs. Diameter is approx 6cm. Will free stand or can be wall mounted with double sided tape (not supplied). So much easier & quicker to use than my fancy electronic timer.

Cheap but does the job timer
Was looking for a battery free timer for general purpose and this looked like it had a good rating. It does the job but instructions are non existent and it does need them to work properly or else you think its broken. I just so happen to stumble across a review about the timer that mentioned that as its wind up you need to fully wind the dial before setting the time or else the ringer doesn't ring. Knowing this helped as I thought it didn't work at first. It's perfect once you know how to use it. Would recommend but would also suggest that instructions are provided.

Follow the Directions to USE THIS TIMER PROPERLY
This is a brilliant little wind-up timer that needs no batteries. I see that many people have given it poor reviews saying the timer does not ring at the end. It most certainly does ring at the end, but you must first wind it up correctly as per the instructions!!! TO GET IT TO RING 1) twist the timer clockwise all the way to zero (so, one full turn of the timer face) 2) Twist it counterclockwise to the number of minutes you need. For example, if you are setting to 10 minutes, first twist to zero, then twist back to 10. Why do you need to do this? Because this timer does not run on batteries, it relies on the winding up to supply it with the energy to work. You are not giving it enough "power" to ring if you do not wind it up fully at the start.

I am pleased with this
I am pleased with this, it's a good solid piece and works well but I think the instructions could have been a lot more comprehensive as I sent one back thinking it was faulty, but when the replacement exhibited the same behaviour I checked out the reviews to see if anyone else was having the same problem; it was then I found that I was using it wrong so the first one probably wasn't faulty at all. The winder needs to be turned past the 15 for the bell to work; so if you only want to time for 10 minutes for instance turn the clock past the 15 and then back to the 10. The further past the 15 you turn it the longer the bell will ring. It mentioned nothing about this in the instructions. When I contacted Amazon about the first one their response was impressively quick and efficient so I would like to thank their staff for dealing with it so promptly.

Looks great, mechanism quality poor.
Hardly ever managed to finish a period. Stopped at random points (and I wound all the way round first). I got a full refund. Got fed up with it undid the screw and dismantled it. Even though its only a self-contained timer mechanism and a screw and two plastic parts it completely stopped working when reassembled. Presumably now these are made in china the quality gone way down. The spring isn;t strong enough to overcome the inherent friction in the mechanism.

Very good
Elderly mother loves this. She finds it easy to use and nice and loud. Tip:- As with nearly all mechanical timers you have to to turn them all the way to maximum time and then back to your desired time when setting. It works really well

Simple to work and easy to see numbers.
This Leifheit kitchen timer is mechanical so you wont need batteries. ITS VERY SIMPLE TO WORK - turn the nob fully round the clock face and then turn it back to the time you want to cook for. The alarm is loud enough in the same room, but take it with you if you move out to another. It fits in a pocket so you wont forget it. The numbers are easy to see and the timer seems fairly robust. If you dont feel ready to graduate to digital try this.

Need a noisy alarm
Only problem is that it doesnโt ring when the time is reached which is a pain!!! I need a reminder with noise... I will prob order a different one that can wake me up at the right moment!!!so as not to over cook
