2 years later and still works great
I installed this on my backdoor from kitchen that has a cement porch. Had to drill into the cement to install. It has been such a great product for us. If I leave the door open and wind comes up, the door swings open further and then stops and stays. Highly recommend this. FYI My door is wood with the glass full length with the tiny shades between the double glass.

VERY STURDY. VERY HELPFUL
You ever have that entrance door to the garage that likes to slam shut everytime there’s a slight breeze…and/or say your cat accidentally farts in it’s general direction?WELP, THIS is a GREAT SOLUTION.I’m already buying a second for the other garage entrance. It holds securely, but not too tight, is a breeze to install, and just looks great in our 1963 home.Note, this only works with wood doors (you have to pop off the doughnut cover plates on each piece to find/locate the screw holes, then screw each side into the door and whatever wall you’re using). I say this only because a lotta similar products to this on Amazon use command strips to secure the 2 sides, which when dealing with a decent magnetic connection like this, will inevitibly fail, and likely take the finish or paint off your door or wall with them. Also also…if you have a hollow core door, REMEMBER, these will NOT work if you try to affix either end to the hollow core, you have to stick with the very bottom or very top of the door where there is usually 1-3 inches of solid wood you can anchor the screws to.

Keeps our stupid door from swinging closed on us
Love this! Only trick is we have to connect it gently. If we slam the door into it too hard it bounces back without staying magnetized. But if we open it like normal people and not act like we’re trying to murder our front door it stays magnetized perfectly.

If you think you need this, this is a solid choice
These are great. We ordered two, one for each of two French doors. They work exactly as intended and look as snazzy as can be expected for a floor-anchored “stop.”It feels very solid and reassuring to open the door and have it settle and stay in one place, rather than drift with a breeze or human touch.I wouldn’t mind another one for the front door, but the wind flow doesn’t affect that entrance the way it did on the deck. So it would be a bit of a luxury, rather than a necessity. We had a handyman install the two we have and I’d recommend having someone with drilling and precise placement experience do it. Not that actual installation is that hard, but getting it to look crisp and exact is a bit of an art. What’s also nice is that after it’s installed, you don’t really see it, as in it blends into the function/essentials of the doors - it’s so functionally necessary that you expect to have it, as basic as a door knob, or hinges. That said, this style blends in nicely with the existing hardware we have going on in our home, especially in the kitchen/dining area.

Sturdiness
Without a doubt a great product. Easy to install and looks amazing. However, i wish i read the previous reviews. The magnet is extremely strong which is a good thing. But most doors are hollowed inside and when you try to pull it away you can hear the wood screeching like is about to come off duebto the strong hold of the magnet. On a complete wood door wouldnt be a problem.I would probably do what another customer wrote about offsetting the magnet so it would be easier to pull away and not damage the door.

Solid all metal product cut the screws will strip out very easily
The provided screws "strip out" very easily - if you are installing it into a solid substrate baseboard or solid core wood door be sure to pre-drill pilot holes first. It's a pleasure to buy a product that has true solid metal components. Even the decorative metal caps have a thickness that is very rigid and durable. I hate plastic and cheap thin metal parts but this piece of hardware is the real deal, except for the provided screws. It took me a few minutes to figure out how to remove the decorative caps but they use friction so you just have to push them off using the right leverage.

Excellent! Strong enough magnet for a self-closing door to the garage... but use your own screws.
The media could not be loaded. The product is sturdy and works well even with a heavy solid door that close to the garage. However the screws that came with it are total junk. make sure you use your own drywall screws and wood screws and pre-drill and you should be happy with it. If the screws had been a good quality I would have given it five stars.
