Its another great product from Hercules 😃😃
This DJ controller is brilliant for the beginner, I should know, for the DJControl Instinct P8 has taught me all I needed to get started with bigger stuff. I’ll talk you through the Pros and Cons: Pros: - It actually feels sturdy, with some weight to it. It's not like a toy in any way. - It is absolutely LOADED with features, especially for a product of its size and price!! The Shift Key extends everything by about 100%, but even without it, you see a lot of buttons, faders, and knobs which you would find on any £1000 controller. - It comes with a lifetime license for DJUCED 40. I actually prefer it to others, not just because its free! It is again, a professional piece of software. - The buttons, faders (sliders) and knobs are all well made and don't feel flimsy in any way - It's a darn pretty piece of hardware! Stuff lights up whether they're on/off, there's a little flashing ceremony when you plug it in, and even without lights, it looks great. Cons: - The Jogwheels have plenty of features, but they are not up the standards of the rest of the P8. They are pressure detecting, which is basically a great way to say that you have to push down for the juicy features. E.g.: Shift+Jogwheel push down=slowly reset BPM. Shift+Rotate jog=Alter BPM. Jog push=stop track. Jowheel rotate without pushing= pitch bend. Scratch mode on +push rotate jog=scratch. As you see, they have features, but pushing down does ruin the well made feel of it all. It means that it is harder to rotate smoothly. They are plastic, so the features you get about just placing a finger on are gone. - It is only a 2-channel mixer, meaning that you can't hook up anything else (e.g. a turntable, cd player, etc) directly. Note that there is headphones-out (3.5mm) and master-out (RCA) ports on the unit. - There are only 4 pads per deck, and while they are nice and gummy to use, with lights and all, it is quite limited with so few, and changing between modes (Loop, FX, Sampler, Hot Cue) is difficult because you have to press and hold 2 varying (per mode) buttons to change. On the whole, this is a fantastic controller, especially for its price bracket. When you compare to a Numark DJ2GO2 or Hercules DJControl Compact (the other major two in this price range), the Instinct P8 could easily be priced at £100 more! I like to think of this product as professional, but not as advanced as the more expensive gear. Also, the sellers (Fuzion) have been extremely helpful. I had an issue with the P8 but they sorted it out completely. This is the thing to buy, from this seller. Highly recommended for all wanting to start DJing!! 😆

Fantastic little deck
We bought the Hercules Control Instinct S deck for my 18 year old son as a bit of a play thing but I have to say what a fantastic beginners deck. The software that comes with the deck is very good and is a full version of DJUCED it installed and plays on my sons 5 year old Toshiba i3 laptop without any problems and it looks really good. The software will automatically access your music files and tell you how many BPM`s ( beats per minute) each track has then all you need to do is select your tracks and start mixing. We bought our son some cheap Dance/Trans CD`s to start off with but you could mix any type of music, Subo and Metalica might be interesting. The deck itself is quit small and very portable, light but still feels solid and well built and it takes its power directly from the laptop you can mix two track at a time add various effects, create loops and samples and you can record your own mixes. It comes with the software and full instructions on a cd. The instructions are not too large but comprehensive and very easy to follow. You will need a pair of headphones and pair of speakers, you can use USB laptop /computer stereo or 2.1 speakers and it has inputs for active speakers at the back. I am sorry I cant give a more in depth review but I am not allowed to use the deck, bloody teenagers lol. Very happy to recommend.

Fab little device, especially for beginners!
Love this little gadget! Im a beginner, wanting to learn to dj for this forthcoming year as an escapism from work. I find this device easy to navigate and i am really beginning to master it! I love the record option, enabling me to listen back to my mixes and hear where ive gone wrong or what ive done right. The only reason i didnt award 5 out of 5 stars is because the software didnt download on my windows7 laptop, meaning that i had to download the software, which was no trouble. Defo recommend!!

Happy
Really small when u get them but fantastic for a bedroom beginning dj and for little party's but there's not that much u can do on them if your a dj that's been at it years but they r worth the money

smaller than expected
Not a bad mixer, though I was surprised at how small it was (smaller in size than a sky box) Son hasn't managed to master the mixing yet but he has told me everything can be done on the laptop using the software as its a replica of the mixer leaving the mixer unused..... found this kinda strange..... But time will tell.

Fantastic Starter Deck & Software for Novice DJ
Impressed with this controller and associated DJuced 40 software - as an introduction to DJing, this is perfect. Small but well laid out and seems robust. Within the first hour I got a good sense of how to load and cue tracks, use loops, adjust BPM, and other features which are getting me more excited about DJing for my own pleasure or for a small party. The software is easy to learn and control from the Hercules decks. The manual from the DJuced website is clear and helpful.

Good quality hardware
Pros: I don't have any experience with dj consoles so I can't compare this product with others. All I can say is it seems a very good quality hardware. Cons: I'm not pleased with the software included(DJuiced), but on the Hercules support site there are midi mappings available for other dj softwares like Traktor so it should work well with them(I tried it with Traktor and it's working fine) Overall: Perfectly fulfilled my expectations. Contains enough functionalities to learn mixing and to perform in small gigs

It's small but it has ALL the bells and whistles! Do not be fooled by other dj controllers. We actually purchased one that sounded good and was bigger but had to return it. This one was smaller, actually the size of a laptop, but has all of the outlets for connecting a headphone, to the computer and to speakers. Sound output can come from speakers or computer, so speakers are not required. It just depends on what you are trying to do and how loud you want your sound to be. You can use the music from your computer source, there are no pre arranged mixes, so you have full creative freedom. You cannot put records or music CDs on the scratch pads! They are just that, scratch pads and they are about the size of a cd...it is compatibile with a MacBook Pro air. It comes with installation software and can be used with dj hero and similar apps...I purchased for my 11yo daughter who is a serious musician. This is not a hobby. She has been playing instruments since she was 4yo, so a background in music and computers is strongly preferred.
