It’s small so you’re going to have to get down close to the ground to use it. I used it to locate a property pin and find a smaller piece of metal that got buried. It works. It is small, so stores inside without taking up much space, and it was a good price. The battery lasted 9 months between uses, with the detection beep loud and strong. As the name implies, it is great for pinpointing if you know the general area something is in. If you’re just searching a larger area, this may not be the best choice.

Seems like it works well

I LOVE this thing. It is incredibly easy to use, the pin pointer is very accurate. I have used it for a couple days now and the battery is still full. The price was spot on. It is a perfect pair with the metal detector I got. The shovel was a nice bonus, however, it bent the first couple times I used it. To be fair, I live in a colder climate were the ground is frozen more than half the year. All in all I would highly recommend.

This pin pointer is very sensitive. And for the price point is worth the money. The only issue that I have with it. I use a Garrett metal detector and if I turn on the pin pointer it makes the metal detector go crazy. I either have to turn the Garrett off or move it at least 7 feet away. I don't understand why it does it.

I waited for a few trips out detecting before giving my impression of this device. If you put most of your money into a new Metal Detector like me (which you should!)... this is a workable temporary pinpointer in this price group. But as soon as you can, save up $100-$150 and get a great one (I purchased the Notka AccuPoint - it is fantastic)!!! This one has many more bells and whistles than the others in this price range but it fails on a couple of important levels... It doesn't handle wet and moderately mineralized soil at all. I went out in my yard, several hours after a rain, and I thought my pointer had broken. It went off no matter where I touched it. I brought out my wife's pointer too and it went crazy too. Anywhere in the yard that I touched either pointer to the ground... they went crazy! On dry soil, they worked fantastic. But on damp soil, it is useless. Secondly, it reacted with my detector, if it was on at the same time. I set the detector about 3 feet away, and facing further away... but they both would chatter. I adjusted my detector's frequency and got a workable solution, but I still find it works better just to turn my detector off. This is an okay pinpointer in a pinch... but don't stay in that pinch very long!
