We shall see how it does!! ☃️ UPDATED!
I just put this on my Hyundai Tucson GL 2006 today even though we're not getting a Nor'easter until Thursday so I could see how it fits. It's a little tricky to put on your windshield especially when you're only 5'1" and I'm trying to get it "centered" by myself. It seems a little small as it doesn't exactly meet or cover the sides of the windshield as another one I just tried on my SUV did. But what I DO LIKE better about this compared to the other one is that the straps that you hook onto your hubcaps is the perfect length (other was way too long & others complained about that too) and the covers for the side mirrors are large & separate from the windshield cover. So there's no straining to pull them over & onto the side mirrors PLUS being so large, they don't interfere with the little mirrors that I have on my side mirrors (see pic). They close by drawstring so they are on there snug after securing them with the drawstrings. This windshield cover also has the additional straps that go over the side mirrors that aren't a struggle to pull over the mirrors and it's an added bonus to keep it secure during our windstorms that always goes with the rain or snow.Having extra scrapers is always a plus so one can stay in the car and the other inside the house until needed. And they extend too but I'm not sure how well they'll stay extended during use as you twist it into place when they're extended. My gripe is the "locking mechanism" on the scraper that you use with the glove is incredibly hard to push in when trying to take it apart to pack it up again. It's not a silver push-in button that's easy to use but instead it's a black tab that I had to use a flathead screwdriver to push it in because I just didn't have the strength in my poor fingers that have osteoarthritis in them.Buying and using covers like this is all new to me as the last 24yrs my cars have been garaged but now I'm staying with family as I hunt for a new dwelling so my poor baby is outside 24/7 in New England weather. Back in the 80s we used old blankets or tarps from camping, ah the good ol days when things were simple! 😉 But I'm glad I found these, that they aren't too expensive and I can do it by myself even with going from one side to other a few times to make sure it's on the best that it can be. I'll update after the storm to say if it worked/helped. ☃️❄️UPDATE 12/20/22: So as I walked past my SUV towards the mailbox, I noticed my driver's side window had condensation on the inside! Say what? I had the cover on since Sunday, it's only Tuesday, and it hasn't rained or snowed yet and temps are 20 at night & 35-40 in the day right now. I took the cover off after double checking that my windows were completely closed, which they were, only to find that my windshield has condensation on the inside too! See my last 2 pics. I thought I could safely leave this on my vehicle when I'm not using it as I only go out 1-2 times a week BUT not after seeing all this condensation on the inside of my windows! I don't want the interior getting damaged. I might end up sending this back😖😫🤬
