Rayman Legends (Xbox 360)

Rayman Legends is a rare masterpiece! It is one of these games that gets almost everything perfectly. For those of you who haven’t been blessed to play it, I’ll let you know what platforming greatness you’ve been missing out on; Rayman Legends is a 2-d platformer that gives Donkey Kong Country’s breathtaking graphics, Mega Man’s creative level design and Mario’s entreating gameplay a run for their money. Rayman Legends is a sequel to another great game called Rayman Origins,that made Rayman’s character popular again. Does Legends meet the expectations fans had for a sequel to Origins? For me, it surpasses them. It is really close to absolute perfection.The plot is as follows; the Dark Teensy from the first game has not only returned, but created new nightmares as well as copies of himself to guard them. He has also kidnapped the good Teensies to serve his willing. The Bubble Dreamer commands Murfy to alarm Rayman and his friends to take action and help them defeat evil while resquing as many Teensies as possible. Weird, simple and goofy. Just the way I like the story for a platformer.The gameplay is not changed very much from Origins but a few things have changed. For starters,there are no flying stages, the high score for each level is much easier to achieve than in Origins and the inclusion of the Invasion Levels just to mention some. As one can gather from the plot, in each level there are several Teensies to free. When you add up all the Teensies in the game, there are 700 to collect. I know that sounds a lot, but, with the exception of one or two special cases, they are not much of a stretch to get.It’s the definition of platforming. Rayman is the absolute best gaming franchise of all time. Because, for every good Sonic game out there, there’s a bad one to contrast it. Rayman has always been gold. Each game he makes is great, and, since I stated that Rayman is the best franchise in video games and Rayman Legends is the best platformer from the best series of platformers,that means for me that Rayman Legends is, without a doubt, the best game of all time!! If you’re a fan of platformers, Rayman legends is excellent. It is a 100% perfect game that will not disappoint you.

I really can't think of anything negative to say about this excellent game, so here are the positives...PROS: + Gorgeous graphics + Great gameplay + LOADS of content - As well as the main game there are also lots of "remastered" levels (around 40) from the previous game, Rayman Origins (which itself was a great game). As if that wasn't enough there's also the HUGELY addictive daily/weekly challenges (which absolutely exude that "one more go" factor), and finally there's the "Invasion" levels. These are kind of "remixed" versions of levels you've already completed, only this time you have to save - against the clock - some teensies strapped to fireworks! This game will keep you going for ages. + The end-of-world music levels are brilliant and will have you grinning ear-to-ear + Lots of stuff to unlock, including many playable characters + Far better menus/level select screens than Origins, so everything is easy to find and most stuff is also only a shortcut away via the Y button. + The game constantly comes up with new ideas as you progress, keeping you interested as you wonder what they will come up with next. + Load times are very quick (though I do have my game installed)CONS: - There is no difficulty setting, so the harder/later levels MAY frustrate some players. Saying that, the game has generous checkpoints and as far as I can tell you have unlimited lives.Rayman Legends takes everything that was great about Origins and hones it to perfection. With so much content and teensies to find this game will keep you entertained for quite some time.

The fact that someone has gone to the trouble to try and effect the score of the 360 version compared to other versions is just sad.I've bought it and its exactly the same, the Vita is the only version where levels were cut, but this is a known.The 360 version is every bit as good at the PS3 version, sure, the game was made for the Wii U, so the controls will always be more suited to that system, but they been re-designed for 360/PS3 and PC and work pretty well.Certainly, if you have never played the Wii U version, you'd never know anyway.The 360 version DOES run in 1080p, and is NOT up scaled at all, so that information is totally false too. Both the 360 and the PS3 run at full HD 1080p, if anything its the Wii U version that suffers visually in comparison to other systems and PC.To us a Quote From Eurgamer:"All of these nuances are replicated expertly across all platforms. So from a visual perspective the only difference of note is the gamma set-up between platforms and the Wii U's limited-range RGB output. J'ai acheté ce jeu pour mon garçon de 8 ans, qui avait adoré et fini le premier.Ce second opus est toujours aussi fun en termes de jouabilité. Les graphismes sont très colorés et fourmillent de détails. Et les musiques sont simplement extraordinaires : c'est très nettement sur ce point que se fait sentir l'amélioration par rapport au premier (les niveaux musicaux sur lesquels le rythme de la musique est calé sur l'action sont tout bonnement fabuleux).Le jeu se joue en solo ou en coop, ce qui me permet d'aider mon enfant à passer avec lui les niveaux sur les quels il se retrouve bloqué. Car la difficulté à très légèrement augmenté par rapport au premier sur les niveaux des derniers mondes.Les menus ne sont pas aussi ergonomique que dans le premier Rayman (et son système de map). en effet, tout passe par des couloirs menant à des sous-menus, mon garçon avait tendance au début à ne pas trop savoir où il se trouvait dans le menu.Le jeu dans cette version import UK est en anglais, mais cela ne pose aucun problème car il n'y a pas de dialogues.Vivement le prochain, surement sur les Next-Gen :)
