ONSENONSEN® Bath Sheet - 100% Supima Cotton, Lightweight, Cinder Grey

I was so excited when I bought these towels less than 6 months ago because I thought I’d finally found a spa quality towel that is both comfortable and quick drying. Unfortunately, I have been sorely disappointment on both fronts. I live in SF and things dry here pretty easily but I would not say these towels dry any faster than normal towels. That is fine except that they are advertised as extremely quick drying. Additionally, the towel weight while I know is part of the design does not wrap you in warmth when you are drying off after a shower or bath like a towel should. Finally, despite the supposed “quick drying” functionality, the towels have developed a funky odor after normal everyday use and regular biweekly washing. I have two and take good care of them but still they have a weird odor. Given the price and the poor functionality for a towel, I would not recommend these. I am bummed to have to say it because I was initially very excited about these.

I should have trusted my instincts and not purchased this product. Onsen only shows four and five star reviews on their site, and scrubs any negative/critical reviews from their Facebook and Instagram posts, even blocking users who offer less than four star feedback. This towel is thin, cheap, and overpriced. For a much better option, get a genuine Japanese waffle towel such as those sold at The Citizenry. Onsen towels look nice in their marketing materials but in fact are super low-quality. Buyer bewared.

The fabric feels luxurious, so I think they must be doing something there, but it fails in the two important areas that matter:1) it doesn't dry you very well. I usually go to a different towel to dry off after I've been rubbing myself with this one for a while.2) it's not very soft, as other people have mentioned.You can get softer towels at Target for $12 and more absorbent towels for $5, there is no reason to get this towel unless you like how it looks.

So far this towel works as advertised but it is far from comfortable and the fact they don't recommend using fabric softener only adds to that. You do get dry quickly and the towel itself dries quickly (no surprise since its super thin) but it will take a while to see if this stays "must smell-proof" or not. I don't hate it, but for the price paid I definitely do not love it either.

In San Francisco my terry cloth towels were taking more than 24 hours to dry.These towels dry off within about 6 hours or so.My house has 5 people and our bathroom hand towel used to be wet all the time. Now it's damp sometimes but usually pretty dry, or at least part of it stays dry.They aren't the softest, but they get softer each wash. And they are very attractive to look at in person.I like them a lot and am overall very happy!

Expensive towel minus the luxury. Light weight doesn’t seem to fully explain this product, see through may be better. Waste of $55.

When I first received these towels I was disappointed. The towels seemed flimsy because they were thin and lightweight. After using them I still didn't like them so I switched back to my other bath towels. After using the Onsen towels, my regular bath towels felt heavy, bulky, and difficult to manage. Ultimately, I gave my other towels to charity and ordered more of these. The bath size towels are much bigger than most bath towels and the bath sheets are so large that my husband said that he felt like he was drying off with a comforter. The bath sheet will actually wrap completely around me twice with enough material left to tie the ends together to hold it up (my chest is 36"). These towels are so absorbent that it actually takes less time to dry my hair. Because they are so different from traditional bath towels, it took a bit for me to get used to them, but now I wouldn't go back to my other towels for anything. I can't recommend them highly enough!

Just got my bath towel today and ordering more. The towel is beautiful and soft. Some people has reviewed it as being see through but that is not the case with the towel I received. Very nice quality. When I initially ordered I wanted to get a bath sheet but they were out of stock in the color I wanted so I ordered the bath towel instead. However, the bath towel is huge and more like the size of a bath sheet from other towel brands.

Saw a national review somewhere saying that these were the ‘new best towel’ so I bought the bery pricey bath sheet and a hand towel. I don’t usually pay so much (over $100 for the bath sheet, $28 for the hand towel) I don’t understand how anyone could think these are good for toweling off after a shower or a bath. They’re very thin and don’t wick the moisture off at all. Rather they move it from one part of the body to another. Unfortunately I don’t think I can retire the sheet as I’ve used it, but the unused hand towel is going back.What a rip off.

This bath sheet is insanely oversized and could serve as a lightweight throw blanket for tropical climates. I like the drape and feel of the weave and might consider looking for a similar item in a more standard bath towel size.Beware of this particular listing, as the description gives the impression that you are buying a set of two bath sheets, but only one was sent to me. I was willing to splurge on these special towels when I thought I was paying about $60 each (that’s still pretty pricy) but ONE bath sheet for over $110 is outrageous. Returned my order.

I really wanted to love these towels but I really do not understand what all the hype is about. They do dry faster than other towels but I live in a pretty dry climate so that is not a huge appeal. And for the price, I could have bought many more other very nice towels. I would not buy again.

These towels are soft and absorbent right from day 1 - you don't have to wash them 100 times before they dry you well. The bath sheet is hugh - I love it. The denim blue colour is rich and pleasing. They are a little pricey but if they last you a lifetime - they are worth it

The towel was so thin I thought it would tear in my hands when I used it.I absolutely do not recommend this towel. It was ridiculously over priced for the quality.
