Nice narrative but cardboard personae.
Not bad overall, but not a prize winner.

A good read, slice of life in a fantasy universe
This light novel is pretty entertaining, develops well the characters (it gives them depth), and has a great way to depict a couple of common and embarrasing situations. As it description implies, it is not a long read, but it did left me wanting to know what comes next. If you're looking for some fantasy literature but don't want to go into deep, complex sagas (Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones, The Wheel of Time, etc), this may be what you're looking for.Regarding the content/universe, although there is reference to magic use, the text does not contain monsters or battles; this novel is more about a slice of life in a fantasy universe under common circumstances (in this kind of settings). If you want to know more, give it a try.

The ending felt a bit sudden but it leaves a good starting point for the next book
Other than a few editing flubbs it was well writen. However, don't expect some grand story. This is more of a character building and world set up book. The ending felt a bit sudden but it leaves a good starting point for the next book.

I loved this and have not read such a fun book ...
I loved this and have not read such a fun book in a long time. I love Megatokyo, but I was a little leery that the book based on the RPG that figures prominently in the story would try to be like the comic and come up as "okay." I found the whole book enjoyable from beginning to end and could hardly put it down. Can't wait to buy the next book!
