As a disabled person I have an NHS Occupational Therapist item fixed to my bed at home. Therefore I needed something to take with me whenever I went on holiday or to stay at a relative or friends house.This is ideal as it is transportable and comes in pieces, ready to be self assembled at the new destination.It is more stable that my OT kit at home, as there are two adjustable legs & rubber feet that give a much firmer installation. Beauty about this feature is that the height can be adjustable to fit that of the height of the underside of the mattress from the floor.My official NHS kit is not as firm. Both depend on the body weight to trap the “tongue” between the mattress and the bass.Can’t find any fault in this other than a white option would be an option, but this is being finding fault or “nit picking”!

Purchased this for my elderly mother who was worried about rolling out of her bed in the night. Full sides were inappropriate, and changing the bed unnecessary, so the district nurse suggested side guards. I found these through searching the web and they were an affordable choice. I ordered two, one for each side. They arrived very quickly (although I have to point out they had obviously been opened and I suspect were a return!) and are easy to fix to the bed providing you have good help (I used my husband) as you have to run the support straps under the mattress and wrap over the base of the bar. Instructions are not good and its a bit fiddly. Once we figured out how to do this, and tie them off, we completed the task easily.Once in position they are unobtrusive but provide both a good handle for my mother to use to sit up and steady herself when sitting down/getting into bed and also are excellent as a small guard to remind mum where the edge of the bed is. Importantly she does not feel trapped and can easily get in and out of bed with the side guards remaining in place,plus you can change the height of them, which is useful.

This is a great peice of kit for elderly folk. Reassuring when getting in or out of bed.

To keep me safe in bed so that I can steady myself to get out of bed. Easily fitted and quality excellent.

I have a bed on it’s highest frame setting but the mattress is very chunky. I was really worried about that but as I’ve been waiting for a bed frame from OT for ages, I bought this to save time.Would be super sturdy and great BUT the legs don’t go low enough meaning its created a lip in the mattress. It’ll have to do for now but just be careful with heights of bed frames when ordering.

After searching the Internet for a bed rail that didn’t look like a hospital bed, we came across this. Some of the reviews were a bit meh, but we decided to give it a go. We were not disappointed!! This is such good quality, well made, incredibly sturdy and handy with the pocket for remotes/books. Some people mentioned how it was difficult to assemble. They must have been wearing a blindfold, snow mittens and doing it behind their backs because it was ridiculously simple and straight forward. Click a few bits together (if you’ve ever used a kids scooter or walking crutch or even a trampoline you would have noticed the same kinda clicker buttons) wrap the strap around the base/frame of the bed, shove the mattress back on and BAM! It’s ready to rock. Give it a quick shake and a pull just to give it a test drive and you will see how amazing this product is.
