Great planter, but EXCELLENT packaging!
Who’s have thought I’d be so eager to write a review about a planter, mainly because of the packaging?!I really hope these planters come back in stock, because they are fantastic! I bought two, and have only put one together so far. I’m going to add photos of how this was packaged when I open the other one to show the care with which these are boxed. Each layer of parts was carefully layered with paper (and some styrofoam where necessary). Each part was clearly labeled, and the bag of hardware? Well, if you’ve ever assembled ikea furniture or something similar, you know how these things usually go. The instructions will list the bits and how many of them should be in the bag, and then just most of the things all mixed in the same bag, right?Ok, these people not only put each type of hardware (screws, latches, tacks, etc) into its own bag (so you’re not left wondering “which one of these three very similar screws is part D, and which is part E?”), but each bag had a sticker to match the label on the list of parts. Not only that, but they were smart enough to put those stickers on the INSIDE of the bags, because they might come off it put on the outside! Each of the wooden parts was clearly labeled with its part number as well. The instructions were clear. Now, I’m pretty experienced with putting together ikea stuff, and this was a slightly different experience for me. There was some amount of “oh, geez, I really hope I’ve got this aligned correctly” as I was going along, but the design is very forgiving. Things don’t have to be exactly perfect, if things are off just a little, you can make it work. The hardest part was the latches for the removable topper, but even that is not so bad because the topper can move a little even while latched, so if it’s not aligned perfectly, I can just shift it so that the latches work fine.Though I will note that, unlike most ikea furniture, it really, really is a good idea to use an electric screwdriver (or drill with a screwdriver bit). I *probably* could have done almost all of it with hand-tools (the wood is pretty soft), but my hands would have been sore.I did have to drill one extra hole, but though to fault of the manufacturer. It was just that the pre-drilled hole in one piece happened to perfectly align with a knot in the wood of the piece to which it needed to be attached. So I had to drill a new hole nearby so that I could get the screw to go though both pieces. Had I not been able to drill though, I might have been able to make do with a long nail for that one spot.Anyhow, if you’re looking for a good planter, this one is great! They do have one without the “cold frame” topper that is still available, and I would highly recommend it if you don’t need the topper. I’m planning to use the topper to extend my growing season in early spring and late fall. And depending on how things go, I might even consider bringing one into the garage in winter to use with some grow lights to keep growing year-round.

Quality Product with minor flaws
I’m not a green thumb nor do I usually buy these sort of things. I live in a city and I wanted to have my own little garden on my deck. I plan on painting it over so I picked the plain wood one. When I received it the package was a bit beat up and how it’s organized in the package is kind of a mess. The instructions are easy, for the most part, but there are parts where the pictures in the instructions don’t necessarily line up.I’ll also say that the wood parts themselves feel very light but for some reason sturdy enough. Mine has sat through a few storms and it’s not falling apart! Which is great 😊.One flaw I noticed was that the screws and latches will probably need to be replaced with galvanized ones because they began to rust really quickly. The twist screws for the options greenhouse top that controls the door, they don’t appear to be the right size but it’s holding well. Maybe an additional washer would help.Otherwise, since it’s getting cold I was worried it would do a bad job of keeping the temperature good but to my surprise on a cold morning, I open it up and it’s steamy! So note, you’ll probably need to prop an opening every morning like a normal greenhouse to circle some air.Something also awesome, rolling wheels at the bottom have a brake. Another brand on here has wheels but no brake so it will always be rolling. It’s light enough to move wherever. I had no spilling. The plants get more than enough light (was worried about the type of plastic the windows were) I’m still worried the windows are roasting the plants but I’ll update this review if I find that to be the case. This is a great product.

Make gardening mush easier on yourself
This is a simple bed to set up by one person. Screws appear to be stainless. The curved ends don't come together at the top edge when two are bolted together, a 3/8" tapered gap is left open and the rubber edging will not stay in place. (this may not be like this on all of these, will find out as I order more of them)There is a plastic covering on all the pieces you have to remove before assembly, and it is a pain in the rear to get off. It took longer to remove the plastic then it did to put this together. There was a very slight bowing in the sides (8x2) when filled, not something I was concerned with because of the light soil mix I used.I placed stick from tree trimming, curse dirt and leaves in the bottom 1/3 then added 10- 2.2 cf of soil mix to fill. The best part is I will reduce the use of a tiller in the garden as I add many more raised beds and I don't lose any garden space.Overall I am pleased with this raised bed for now.If I get 10 yrs out of them then all should be good.(I did purchase a 8x4x2 bed for root crops and will add more of them. (another brand))Any day you did not learn anything was a wasted day! They can remove many things from you, but never your knowledge, that is what you pass on to others.

Raised garden bed
Very well constructed and packaged. Took a while to bolt all those little screws that hold the panels in place, but once completed held the planting dirt and soil very nicely. We will now see how long they last out in the weather
