Quickshine Water Softener

The idea of it is good and useful but I do not really know how much it helps the water or how long it truly lasts, and my filter in the top of the bottle was defective and had a small hole which let a little bit of the crystals out and into my steam mop/iron which is not good.

A useful water softener, quite expensive for what it is by the time postage is added. Would have been better if there had been a deal for buying several in one go. It remains to be seen how long it lasts!

I have had water softening crystals like this before from both AquaSoftna and Morphy Richards, and their crystals arrive dry and a much paler colour. These Quickshine crystals arrive wet and already dark orange. Plus the crystals are fine enough to pass through the filter and into the iron, and the water coming out of the bottle is tinged orange (I don't need to have my clothes stained orange!). As soon as I put water into the bottle the crystals turned dark red (they are supposed to be thrown away when they are this colour). I have had to throw them away without using them. What a waste of money!

I normally use distilled water from Halfords for the iron and steam mop and use these when I’ve run out of distilled water

Hard to know if this works. Only time will tell or testing it with litmus paper or the like. However the filter in the top of the bottle was faulty and allowed crystals into our iron. The supplier sent me another one straightaway without hassle. Thank you

I’ve used one of these before and although you have to shake the bottle it does it’s job

The second bottle I have bought. Seems to work well and pretty good value.

Arrived late, as for performance afraid I cannot yet comment, time will tell on the wear and tear of my steam appliances as we live in a very hard water area.
