PEBEO INC Drawing Gum 45ML Latex Free, Grey, 45 ml (Pack of 1)

This is my favourite masking fluid because it is liquid and can be used in a drawing pen nib and creates extremely fine detail. I teach for a well known art college and I always recommend this one. Above are my more conventional works which are part of my teaching practice.And one which is not so conventional.I use it for highlight and details and also as a resist. It removes easily and never stains the paper. It spatters well and does not pong!

Ive so far only tested with watercolor but it works really great! Consistency alows for detailed application and covered areas remain untouched when painted over.

I have used it once and it worked as expected. It is a very thin fluid, so it is easy to get fine details just where you want it. I left it on the paper for about a week, I did have issues in one or two spots when removing it, but perhaps it is better if removed sooner.I'm really pleased and would buy again.

I bought this as an alternative to batik (hot wax) to do with some Year 6 children at the end of term. Hot wax was going to be too hot in what was 39C heat the week we were doing it. They used very fine brushes but still painted quite a wide line in some cases but no different to how they would have used hot wax for batik and no ironing needed for me at the end. I would need to buy more bottles if I wanted more children to work at once but with 2 or 3 at a time, it was fine and the gum went a very long way. We painted onto canvas using the gum and Brusho. The photos show the canvases they created in a day with plenty of drying time. The gum was easy enough to push (firmly) off with a finger or thumb but children had to be reminded not to use their nails as they were tempted to. Very happy with their outcomes and quick delivery from the seller.
