Could be better.
You get what you pay for with BBQ equipment. The temperature control is first class. Very pleased.

if you are new to this smoking lark you are better buying this product as a package which includes weber cover ,quality charcoal and wood chunks and rubs ,you can haggle on the net , its all a bit trial and error at first the secret is using the best grade charcoal and setting the temp right using the vents top and bottom , watching demo videos on you tube is the best way to learn , but its a quality piece of kit and if looked after will last years , great for racks of ribs , meat joints and even smoking fish, makes great smoked mackeral , even did a big pot of smoked chilli in itthe 47cm version is the middle size and big enough for the average family bbq the weber smokey mountain is considered the best for the price

Easier then Breathing
Firstly if you are from the UK, you will find it cheaper at 'World of Power', trust me I trolled the internet, like a teenager searching for porn.As a professional chef I had been debating for months to treat myself to one of these, I was a moron for waiting so long. Being a billy big bollocks I thought I would goes knees deep and do some Beef shortribs as my first go. What can I say, I did next to nothing and my life improved tenfold. One chimney starter of unlit coals in the bottom. Half a chimney starter of lit coals on top. Half filled the bowl with hot water (lined it with foil, easier to clean), set my electric probe up (Maverick ET732 - cannot recommend enough) chucked my seasoned meat on the racks, put couple of wood chunks in and put the lid on. Ajusted the vents (keeping one on the lid fully open) to regulate the temp too 235f. Went to bed. Got up 8 hours later, the probe was still reading 235f. I loled and assumed it couldn't be true...But alas it was, the shortribs were done and better then sex, and I did nothing. I felt guilty for not putting in effort. If your debating whether to buy. Don't. I promise you. Its almost criminal its that good.

Absolutely brilliant piece of kit.
Firstly, the price on here is ridiculous, there's loads of places with good prices on the net, so do some research - I paid £313 and free delivery. But, if you're looking for a review, I'll give you one. If you're in the market for a smoker. Just buy this one. Done my first cook tonight and it's made some unbelievable ribs.Lay awake at night for a couple of weeks wondering if I done something stupid, spending so much on a BBQ...put all my fears to bed tonight - this thing is gona get used every week until it snows again...it works in every weather so it's not just a summer toy...Read a couple of BBQ recipe books first to make sure you're up for the cooking, pit cue co and let there be meat are worth the money...The get on and buy this bloody thing, it will rock your world!

Just tried this out at the weekend and smoked a beef brisket and a chicken. Both turned out great however the smoked flavour was very strong so will adjust that next time (I used Jack Daniels Oak cast chips). The temperature control was great and the meat took about 6 hrs to do, low and slow. So much better that just burning everything on the normal BBQ. I think I fussed over it too much and next time will just leave it alone. The bbq is great quality and also looks good. Everything worked well and I am very pleased with it. Looking forward to ribs next. Did not purchase from Amazon as I got a better deal with a cover etc. Bought the 47cm one and it is a good size. Cooked for 7 and only used one grill.

Can you smell that? It smells guuuuud!
Price is far higher than other places. I paid £330 for mine including the £60 Weber cover. But the unit itself is excellent. It took about 20 minutes to assemble for 1 person. My first cook was with a pork shoulder, a pork loin and a small brisket. The pork items were perfect. The brisket was good, but would have been better if I had taken it off about 30 minutes earlier. I would recommend getting a good temperature probe to leave in the meat, showing the internal readings on an outside unit. Then you don't even have to take the lid off.Coal quality is very important. Don't use cheap & high volume coal. It burns far too fast and you'll be refilling it all the time during a cook. Use a good quality one like Weber briquettes and at low temperatures it is possible to get a 10 hour smoke without refilling. Perfect for smoking a complete brisket. What this isn't though, is a grilling BBQ. It's a slow cooking smoker. If you are looking for something to do burgers and steaks at far higher temperatures then a kettle type BBQ is a better choice. I have both, but I do love to BBQ.BPB4L!
