Ordered these for pike fishing, I use a pod for carping, but I wanted some decent bank sticks for spreading out across the peg and enabling me to point the rod straight at the spot I'm fishing.I wanted something really solid, not really concerned about the weight, but something heavy duty enough to drive into cold hard ground, also where i fish the bank is quite gravelly.I'm seriously impressed with these bank sticks, they're stainless steel and very heavy duty.The inside section can be pulled completely out of the lower part-this is good as you can smack the lower part into the ground if needed without damaging the thread on the upper insert.The threads all fit my alarms and rod seats fine, and thumb screws are large enough that they should be easy enough to operate on a freezing morning, it's also good that there are two on each stick, as they will grip more securely.The point on these is really sharp, impressively so for a wide diameter section of pole, great for driving into harder ground. I think even on hard ground these should be easy enough to push in by hand (if it's really freezing you can drill a pilot hole with a bivvy peg).Very very happy with these and sure they will give many years of service !
