The Omega2+ is the latest in development boards from Onion. It comes with built-in Wi-Fi and on-board flash storage. It is an easy to use IoT device with Onion app support. It is a full computer running Linux. You can think of the Omega2+ as a tiny Linux server with Wi-Fi. (Yes, it even runs Apache!). For the BSD fans out there, the Omega2+ also runs FreeBSD!The Omega2+ is tiny so that it can easily fit into your DIY project or commercial product. It is less than 1/4 the size of the Raspberry Pi, and less than 1/3 the size of the Arduino Uno. It is a Linux computer designed specifically for building connected hardware applications. Great for IOT
Excellent product, you will need an expansion, or power dock to get the best use. I have the power dock, and the Arduino dock2. Now I can program the arduino wirelessly. This device is very useful for IOT applications. I will be buying lots more at these prices.

Tiny LINUX computer
It is cool how small a computer can be. The Onion Omega 2 runs a classic OpenWRT Linux on a chip with a small form factor. You log in through local WiFI provided by the chip. After setup you can log in with e.g. Putty. Adding an SD card is highly recommended. The onboard space is quite limited and you run out of space very quick. Your work directory should be on the SD card. I am running Python 3 on the board. I would have loved to have Bluetooth on board as well.

Appassionato di sistemi embedded ho deciso di acquistare Onion Omega2 Plus.Consiglio di acquistare la versione plus in quanto il quantitativo di flash è maggiore.Il vantaggio principale è di avere a bordo un sistema linux embedded con tutti le funzionalità.Tantissimi i pacchetti opkg che possono essere installati da terminale.Ho installato l'interprete python e pip per poter installare i pacchetti python ed in 5 minuti il sistema era in grado di inviare messaggi MQTT al cloud AWS si Amazon.Il sistema si scalda molto durante l'utilizzo
