Face Off: Emile: 1 (Nashville Sound) Paperback – Unabridged, 14 Oct. 2017

Alicia Hunter Pace books always satisfy my craving for something warm, delightful, and ..delicious. The characters and communities are heartwarming, which I need in a time where we all crave more personal human connection. I read these as much for that as I do for the romance..and there is definitely allll of that that.

This was a very enjoyable storyline with exceptional storytelling. The characters were exceptionally well-written with lots of love and emotion and the romance between the two main characters was written with lots of interesting feelings. I enjoyed the pace of this book. I would have enjoyed this story more if the author had included an epilogue at the end, but overall it was a very good story.

I've loved all Alicia Hunter Pace's books and the Sound series does not disappoint! The writing strikes the right balance for me between strong female and damsel in distress - never veering into the land of dumb woman saved by a man. Amy is crippled by circumstances, but is still a fierce, successful woman committed to make it on her own. As much as Emile wants to save her, she doesn't merely fall into his arms (and checkbook) to make her life easier.This book is a great read with plenty of romance, funny moments, and great characters.

I loved hockey romance, I'm new to this author but she didn't disappoint. Amy has found herself in a small town with credit cards that don't work, and when her boyfriend never comes back to pick her up she lets a man she just met give her a ride home, only to find she doesn't have a home. Emile is the goalie for the Nashville Sound hockey team and when he sees a young woman looking so sad sitting by herself outside a store after visiting his sister and some friends he stops and talks to her. If her stupid boyfriend forgot to pick her up why not give her a ride home, after all she lives in the same building, or does she?Amy needs a place to live but she won't take charity, so Emile offers her a job as his assistant, and cook and if he has his way, lover but we will see about that! I think I will like this series.

This book is so good. It does build off of characters from another series but can still be enjoyed without having read the others. I love Emile and his quirks. He drives a flashy car but does not take himself too seriously. Love how he does the right thing even though it is difficult. Great read
