Sturdy and Convenient Ground Anchor for Your Rotary Dryer ⚓️☀️
The Brabantia Metal Ground Spike is a practical and well-designed solution for securely anchoring your rotary dryer without the hassle of concrete. This handy accessory is a must-have for anyone seeking a stable and reliable setup for their Lift-O-Matic Advance or SmartLift rotary dryers. 🌀Crafted from durable and corrosion-resistant galvanized steel, this ground spike is built to withstand the elements and provide long-lasting support for your dryer. No more worries about your dryer toppling over or becoming unstable, even in windy conditions. 💨One of the standout features of this product is its hassle-free installation. Unlike concrete anchors, the Brabantia Metal Ground Spike requires no messy mixing or lengthy curing times. Simply drive it into the ground, and you're ready to go! 🔨 This makes it an excellent choice for those who value convenience and want to avoid the hassle of working with concrete. However, it's worth noting that while the ground spike is designed for stability, its effectiveness may vary depending on the soil conditions and the force of the wind. In extremely loose or sandy soils, or during severe weather events, additional anchoring measures may be necessary to ensure maximum security. 🌀🌩️Additionally, the ground spike's compatibility is limited to the Lift-O-Matic Advance and SmartLift rotary dryers with a 50 mm pole diameter. If you have a different model or brand of rotary dryer, you'll need to double-check the compatibility before purchasing. 🔍Overall, the Brabantia Metal Ground Spike is a fantastic choice for anyone seeking a reliable and convenient solution for anchoring their rotary dryer. With its durable construction, easy installation, and Brabantia's 5-year guarantee and service, you can enjoy worry-free outdoor drying for years to come. Just remember to consider your specific soil conditions and dryer model for optimal performance. 👍🌳

should last over 20 years, simple to bash in.
after 23 years the airer became wobbly because the socket had rusted away.the new socket fits the old airer perfectly. Unless the ground is hard and dry, you can drive it into the ground. Cut into the ground with sharp spade, then i probed the target spot with a steel bar a couple of times until i missed the stones or was able to remove them. Once the route was clear enough, then insert the socket and drive it in with a lump hammer onto a piece of scrap timber, which was shattered by the time the socket was flat to the ground. For someone else the installation was much harder. When the ground is too hard to dig, due to stones or concrete hardened clay, you need to buy a heavy lump hammer and steel spike and bash away, soak with water, until a hole is chiselled out of the ground, which is like a mining operation! Make sure you go deep enough for the socket - you won't have time to deepen it once the concrete goes in. Fill hole with water and pour in 2 bags of postcrete, which sets really fast, so you need to get the socket in fast, immediately, put in the airer, again immediately, and get it plumb, hold for a few minutes and have a rest.

Would repurchase
The outside wings did not appear as per the diagram but it’s very sturdy and was easy to put in.

Works perfectly
Larger than I expected but appears well made. Not easy to install - you need the ground to be soft and a sledgehammer or mallet to drive it in. I don't think a normal hammer would be enough. Use a block of wood on top of the spike to prevent damage from the sledgehammer. You also need to check it's still vertical after each strike. But it's worth taking a few minutes extra installing it because it fits my Brabantia washing line perfectly and holds it really well. I'd happily buy another.

Good quality - TIP to help you install it
I recently moved house and took my rotary dryer with me, so I needed another ground spike as my old one was cemented into the ground. I found that my previous one tended to lean over to one side, as the grass around the cement became soggy and allowed for a small degree of movement so this one appealed because it looked heavy and robust…and it is!!! On arrival it is a bit of a beast at a good 18 inches long, over 5cm diameter and fairly hefty in the hand. I was a little apprehensive about hammering it into the ground, such was the size. ( imagine having to hammer a small thermos flask into the ground! That will give you some idea). However I found the following technique helped: in order to avoid hitting stones or bricks, I took a thin, straight, long piece of wire from a coat hanger, and walked round the garden pushing it into the lawn until I could find a clear, unobstructed foot and a half spot. ( This took a long while - I was surprised how many obstacles there were!) . I then used various lengths of poles, canes etc in varying thicknesses, to sort of “build up” to the end goal. So by gradually working my way up it made installation of the final product much easier. (It went something like this: thin piece of wire, pencil, bamboo cane, piece of copper piping I had lying about, Broom-handle and and old curtain pole) To install the ground spike still took considerable effort and I don’t think it will be coming out if I ever move again! However I’ve managed to keep it straight and true, ( establishing a good straight vertical line with the thinner wire helped here) and there is no “play” in it when it is in the ground and the dryer inserted. Alj performs exactly as expected without having to cement it in. When the grandkids are playing I can just lift out my rotary dryer and put the bright yellow cap on the end so no one will fall on it and injure themselves. Plus I can run my lawnmower over the top of it to cut the surrounding grass without catching the blade on it no problem!I am thrilled with the product, easily worth the money, and it helped that I managed to pick it up a little cheaper under a Amazon warehouse deal.

Just ok
Love the design of this and seems strong enough but the only down size for me is I think it could do with being 2 inches deeper

Looked well made
It was a replacement for my clothesline. I returned it because it was too small, but it looked very sturdy!
