MUK Hard Styling Mud (95g)

MUK hair styling mud is a really good product. It is has a strong, long lasting hold with a matt finish. I've used this as my go to product for about 10 years now. I find other products too greasy or they don't hold as strongly. It isn't hair spray level but a small amount will give a robust hold and look great. If you use it on wet hair you will get a wet look. It washes out easily and has a great smell. The price is reasonable and comes in a small aluminum tin with a foil wrap. If you expose the tin to the air you will find the mud will discolour from beige to yellow and will become drier but still usable. I find one tin will last around 1 - 2 months with daily use.

I see reviews noting it’s a great product for thick hair - but just to add it’s also great for finer hair. I have naturally fine straight hair and this is the only product which lets me style it and has it stay in place all day. Used it for years. Top notch.

I have thick hair that also like to do what it likes, when it likes, and appear to have anti wax properties that Teflon have taken inspiration from.This stuff smells lovely, works really well (I don't look like a vagabond after an hour) and also I find it works on my beard as well \o/

This a great product that gives good hold and texture. Simply scoop out a small bit, emulsify between your hands and work into dry hair. If you didn't quite get enough repeat the process to work a little bit more in. If you find it is too difficult to work the product through your hair, just add a drop or two of water when emulsifying it and you will be able to work it into your hair more easily. When you have finished styling your hair, the product washes off your hands easily.You can keep restyling your hair throughout the day if you like but you probably won't need to as the hold is pretty strong. I have tried it on both short and slightly longer hair and found my style remained in place the whole day with no need for any restyling. The really good thing is that it doesn't leave any flakes or white bits in your hair like some other products do.When you get to the end of the day, you'll be able to wash it out pretty easily to with no need for repeated shampooing to get the product out of your hair.The only reason I have given it 4 stars is that I find the artificial orange scent a bit too much. If it was toned down a bit I would most definitely give it 5 out of 5. Having said that, I would probably order it again because it works well.

I've been buying this product for at least 2 years now after first being introduced to it at a barbers. It was much cheaper online (half the price) and the product it quite frankly excellent. I think I've got through about 5 tubs now and they last around 4 months for me. My hair is short, probs 1.5-2inches on top.I find the best way to apply it so it holds and hair can be reshaped throughout the day is when hair is fully dry, rubbing a little into 1 palm then both hands together and applying quickly. Dry hair beforehand if just washed hair with hair dryer. I've tried some other products since (when forgot this on hols) and it was nothing like it and made me realise how good it was and how hard it is to find a good hair product I like. 1 downside is the tin can get damaged if in a sports bag and become hard to open. But this doesn't reduce it by any stars as its such a minor problem. I've never written a review before so this shows how passionate i am about this product!!!

Great hair product from top to bottom. Comes in a cool looking and easy to transport tin. The hold is strong and leaves a nice matte finish and it's easy to apply which I like. Also it smells great, I get loads of compliments on how nice my hair smells.It isn't the cheapest but with this product you get what you pay for. You only need to use a tiny bit at a time so it lasts forever. I use it every day and a 95g tin lasts me about 6 months (I have short hair).I can only describe it as perfect!

I used to use Dax Wax in my hair because it was the only product that would hold it but the problem with Dax was that it takes about 8-9 washes to get it out of my hair so I carried on searching for the right product for me.My hair is naturally thick and 'brush like' and every hairdresser I've ever been to mentions that its the thickest they've worked with.Massive pain in the backside, but one day my stylist gave me this to try and I haven't looked back since.It's a little more than I was used to spending on hair products but on the flipside it lasts for ages (around a month and a half for me) and it washes out easily.The hold is fantastic and it is non-greasy matt finish. Not going to comment on the smell too much as 99.9% of hair products smell delicious so this one is no different. (besides, once this one is in your hair, you don't really notice the smell)All in all, it's everything I've wanted/needed in a product and I shall be a customer for life.... unless they change it for some silly reason!
