The sensor that goes outside sends the temp and humidity outside, the rest is in the unit itself. After replacing two more expensive units within 10 years I decided to give this one a try and it's actually pretty good.

Q: If I were to put the batteries in the main unit and use the a/c adaptor at the same time would that save the settings during a power failure ?

As long as the batteries are in the main unit the settings are safe ; However once the power goes out the a/c adaptor will not function but the batteries will keep the settings safe !!!

Q: How are multiple sensors displayed on the base unit? Does it cycle through them like a slide show, or do you need to do this manually?

push a button on the main unit to cycle thru the sensors
